He said techs, not guys... Apparently that means they've had some sort of training?
Don’t get me started on this subjectYour shops have at least 3 bathrooms for the "folks".
Male, female, and "undecided".....
I agree. I know somebody that locked-up an old Echo 60 with outboard oil. I was able to get it un-stuck, though.I've always heard outboard oil will burn a chainsaw up. Outboard motors are water cooled and don't need near the quality an air cooled 2 stroke needs.
I think the posters that linked that Shindawia - Echo PDF file about engine and piston failures should stand up and take a bow. Very informative. Not only was it a refresher on two stroke engines but a very good read and a definite keeper to store on the computer. I am going to stock up on printer ink and get that file printed in case the computer decides to go south.
But they probably figure we're not smart enough to diagnose and fix something our-self. They want you to take it to the "dealer" where some snot nosed 18 year old punk who probably never held a real saw is the 'expert' Lol
Yeah the mechanic I dealt with chastised me for taking the limiter caps off the carb even though they were never there to begin with. He wants to be the only one to make any adjustments.
OK. So now what? For a guy that just wants to forgive and forget you sure keep stirring the ****. Are you gonna call the shop out?https://www.ebay.com/itm/54mm-Cylinder-Piston-Pin-Kit-Gasket-Oil-Seals-for-Stihl-066-MS660-066-Chainsaw/161666598820?_trkparms=aid=222007&algo=SIM.MBE&ao=1&asc=20140131123730&meid=2ba636d4fc374705a0a6939d4d294cf5&pid=100167&rk=6&rkt=15&mehot=pp&sd=323578127011&itm=161666598820&_trksid=p5411.c100167.m2940

That is the exact same cylinder to the letter that the owner of the dealership said was genuine Stihl that he had put on my saw before I bought it from him.
What’s the name of the shop so others don’t get burnedhttps://www.ebay.com/itm/54mm-Cylinder-Piston-Pin-Kit-Gasket-Oil-Seals-for-Stihl-066-MS660-066-Chainsaw/161666598820?_trkparms=aid=222007&algo=SIM.MBE&ao=1&asc=20140131123730&meid=2ba636d4fc374705a0a6939d4d294cf5&pid=100167&rk=6&rkt=15&mehot=pp&sd=323578127011&itm=161666598820&_trksid=p5411.c100167.m2940

I asked a while ago. Must be a secret...What’s the name of the shop so others don’t get burned
Appears that waytroll
I find it really odd op couldn’t change a sprocket himself and now he is going to tear a saw all the way down and split the case to change the bearings.troll
He wouldn't be the first. This place is emboldeningI find it really odd op couldn’t change a sprocket himself and now he is going to tear a saw all the way down and split the case to change the bearings.
It was the immediate shop bashing that threw up a flag for me.I read every post. No where did he say that he couldn't change the sprocket. The attitude some of you guys have for new folks that come in is the reason this place has been on a decline for a while now. Give the guy a break. Who ****ing cares if he doesn't say what shop it was or not. He also said the shop owner is a customer at his place of employment want doesnt want to cause any issues. We don't know the whole story but why does it matter? It is what it is.
