Ok, so Hackberry it is then. I got the rest of it home tonight, and even got some of it bucked up.

I ended up getting 4 good sized trailer loads of it, this last load was not quite as big as the 1st three. Quite a bit of wood though.

I ought to have that new 362 R-CM almost broke in by the time I get all of it bucked up. Only put 3 tanks though it so far and it's really starting to wake up.

I'm not at all familiar with hackberry but you've some nice fire wood there.

I'm wondering if this is a Maple tree? All I know is, it's not Elm, I been cutting Elm for firewood the last 6 years. I'm happy to find something that is not Elm!!

There was a storm that came through town over the past weekend, and took down two big trees in the city park. I went to the city yesterday to see what they were going to do with them. They already had a tree service lined up to take care of them. I contacted the tree service company they said they were just going to haul them to the dump, what I thought? I asked if I could have them for firewood?

He said bring a trailer if I want them and they will load me. So I grabbed my 26' gooseneck and got two big loads last night. They had them cut up into 20' or so log length by the time I got there. There is still a 3rd load there of this tree, yet. I asked the tree service guy what kind of tree it was, he thought it was some kind of Maple, maybe. What do you guys think it is?

There is a 2nd tree down in the park. I'm going to get also. But it is not the same as this one. I will get pics of it in a few days when I get it home and try to figure out what kind of tree it is?

Thanks!!
