I bought a 240v chainsaw the other day off the classifieds for $20, for noodling up unsplittable firewood rounds that have knots, branches, etc. The thing is advertised to have 2000w.
This thing is impressive! With a sharp 3/8lp chain and 16" bar it melts through oak and some of the softer eucalyptus. It's OK have a cord because my wood stack is only a couple of metres from the garage.
It's so much better than any battery powered saw I've used and easily cuts with a 40cc petrol saw.
