Hi everyone
My name is John Walker and i have been watching you guys for a couple of weeks now and thought i would like to join you CRAZY CHAIN SAW- TREE KILLERS LOL
Looks like you guys have fun and are learning alot about saws.
I thought it was time to introduce myself and to see if you guys will allow me to join your little group under the trees.
My Name is John Walker and I am the Manager of my parents chainsaw shop (Walkers Saw Shop)The largest Husqvarna dealer in Canada 2 years running and going for the Hat Trick. My Brother Don is the head mechanic, Justin Lofstrom is our Apprentice mechanic, Mother does the book keeping and tries to keep the brothers in line and writes the CHECKS, And the founder Bob Walker who spends half his day grinding cylinders and the other usually looking after his grandaughters.
The business started 20 some years ago when Bob got laid off at the largest contractor in B.C. Had enough he started his own business out of his small garage. He started modifying saws around then by taking Mac kart engines and putting them into the Mac 125 guys loved it and the rest is history.
Well i would like to thank some of you guys for the great comments on our product and service and hope we can continue this for you in the future
As for the saw mods. I will give you a brief description of what intails Walkerizing.
We first of all tear the saw down and look for factory defects and repair them. ie pinched wires, gaskets and broken screws are among a few
We grind the intake and exhaust ports to change the port timing.
as well as polish the ports, to eliminate the build up of carbon on the exhaust port.
we chamfer the ports and the piston and massage the rings before putting it back together.
We also do changes to the ignition timing in some saws if they are not with in our desired area.
The muffler is then drilled and 2 small pipes are installed.
Thats pretty much it and if i tell you any thing more i will have to KILL YOU LOL
We do approx 500 saws a year for the forest industry in our area as well as around the world. The customer wants more power in a lighter saw and also needs the reliability. Our Modifications will allow the saw to breath better and run cooler making less wear and a longer life.
Sure we could build you a ripping saw but we do not have the time for that kind of work and i would recommend you send it to Dennis if your not in a rush and I have heard Dennis is doing some fine work and good work takes time.
We are kind of like a production line but we take the same care on every saw that leaves our businnes as we are proud of the work we do and we would like to keep our reputation of being honest and doing the best job we can.
So Im here to relax and get away from the wife LOL and try and help some of you wanta BS out with questions.
anyways thanks for listening and hope to see you all later
John W
