I have one KD2159, one stock demo 2159, and one in the box. They are a pretty hot saw right out of the box; about a pound lighter than the next chassis size (2163,2165,2171)

They are in the upper class product catagory.

I can't believe that only 2 people know this model saw.

There must be other users or people who have seen or tried this saw.

Please give me your comments on this saw good or bad. :(

Lobo,
I have not had the chance to run a 2159 yet.
But i did talk to Ken Dunn last night on the phone and he had nothing but good things to say about it.
Their is a saw in route to ken now so i will let you know in a couple weeks ...

woodsjunkie,

Have you had the chance to try your 2159 yet ?

Lobo,
I did have a chance to run a stock 2159 was real impressed with it....... then I did some muffler mods and polished it up a bit and was more impressed.
As far as the 2159KD it hasn't made it hear yet Ken has it now working his magic...... I will be sure to let ya know ....Eric

Sold a couple, fired them up. They seem to have nice zip right out of the box. Customers say that they like them so far.

I'm not sure if the 2159 is an updated 590 or if it is a completely new design. FWIW the 590 really gets with it.:)

A stock 2159 handles well and has good power to weight. It is a little over a pound lighter than the next chassis size up the scale.

I had a firewood cutter try one and come back and buy a 2165, It just all depends on what your expectations are. This same man had been used to a 181.

I find it difficult to rationalize why one needs more than 59cc for cutting firewood. I don't like to carry the extra weight of more saw than I need.

I don't know if that helps you any but I believe you would be happy with a 2159. Its a real nice saw.
