Acquired a 2165 that has been sitting for an unknown length of time. Engine turns over but clutch seemed engaged. Chain brake will lock and unlock. With brake on, cant pull the rope. Unlocked the rope pulls but chain turns also. I tried to remove the clutch. Clip, washer and sprocket came off fine. The drum will not slide off the crank. I can't see any way to grip it to pull it off. Any suggestions?

Clutch hub is screwed on - left hand threads.

Not the clutch hub. The drum. The part the chain sprocket fits on.

Got any photographs of the offending items?
Could the needle bearing have rusted solid "welding" the clutch bell onto the crank shaft?
Good soak in penetrating oil and a bit of torch heat might help relieve any corrosion grip- but if its mechanical grip you may have to resort to more drastic actions.
