Good!
Well Dean it sounds to me like an impulse problem.....That's why I asked about sealer, to much can squeeze out and plug the impulse hole....if it will only run at half choke that tells me that it is getting fuel by creating a vacuum in the bore to suck fuel up from the tank rather than actually pumping the fuel. When you installed the base gasket are you sure you got it on so the cut out lined up with the impulse hole in the case and cyl? The cutouts must face the intake side of the cyl. With the carb off can you blow compressed air in the impulse hole on the manifold and hear or feel it coming out in the crankcase? Or you can squirt WD in the impulse hole in the manifold with the red straw...if it disappears and doesn't squirt back at you it's clear. If you are certain that this passage is clear of obstruction, then the issue is in the carb itself. Be certain you have the carb to manifold gasket on correctly so that the hole lines up with the hole in the carb. Then it's on to the fuel pump.....are you certain you have not flipped the pump layer? The little pointed nib on the corner of both the pump and the gasket point to where the choke shaft attaches to the choke pull. Also I assume you removed/cleaned or replaced the final fuel filter screen in the carb body. I know these may sound like simple questions with obvious answers......but in my experience the simplest things are the easiest to overlook and do incorrectly.....we always want/expect something to be epic when troubleshooting.....the reality is generally the opposite in the end. No harm in doing a pres/vac test but my money is on something simply put together wrong. Not insulting your abilities either.....very easy to overlook the obvious. These days when doing the work you have done on this saw I always install a new set of crank seals anyway....cheap insurance.....can only expect 30-40 yrs out a set..LOL!!
