I'm going out on a limb here.....but I'll guess not.......trees are not as big in Sweden as the PNW......

The reps told us that back in the day. When we were young & stupid we used to laugh at the Swede models and what they were doing in the ads/brochures. I realize after it was just a different way of doing the same thing. And they must have known something, because they made fantastic saws before Electrolux AB. If they had slimmed down the 111S a bit, given it electronic ignition early on, set up a strong dealer support network in the PNW, I don't see how that saw could have been anything but a force of nature in the woods.

Decent 910, but not so decent price. Funny that he mentions the muffler being beat, but never shows a pic of it:http://www.ebay.com/itm/Jonsered-910-e-chainsaw-jonsereds

The bottom rear handle AV is intact....which is kind of a miracle, because they are usually jury rigged from being broken so many times. Not the cleanest 910 I've ever seen, but very decent. At least it has the unobtainium air filter....lol

Hey guys. I just posted in the chainsaw parts for sale section regarding large felling spikes I have for 820,830,910,920 and 930 saws.
Go take a look! They're nice!

I am a regular in the general chainsaw board but I never looked in the trading post until I had a saw to pass along. Maybe the Jonsereds crowd doesn't look there either. What I have is a good Jonsereds 630 and I need some pricing help. I am thinking this is the place to find the experts. Can someone help me out with a price range? Thanks Don

Just going by the one picture I'm thinking 300(ish) in top notch condition.

I picked up this 621 last week. It was on Craigslist and only about 1/2 hour away (and I had enough cash in my pocket). It came with a Stihl 034 and an Echo 302 all in similar condition, but not running. Fresh gas and a quick peek in the carbs and all three are runners. I only wanted the Jonsereds but he would only sell as a package, so the other two will be sold off in the fall. The 621 will get the fuel system freshened up and I'll check the points. Oh yeah, and I'll dig a silver hand guard out of the parts bin.

Good score! It has the spark plug cover too.

It fits a little loose though........

Spark plug covers are the first thing to go fubar and then the hand guard. It's nice to see them on old saws like these, but I'd take them off for any serious woods work. You can always put them back on for the shelf...lol.

Nice score, Eric....looks low hrs.

I think $300ish is creditable if there's no scoring and relatively low hrs. Certainly not a 'deal' by local garage sales and craigslist standards. The more cubes, the more money you'll pay on average for similar condition. That 930 in the link lower down will bring more most probably. Although the info supplied is not accurate...it was made on the Partner assembly line and was influenced by Partner and Husky, as Electrolux Group AB had bought J'red, Partner and Husky......things were really changing by the time the 930 came out. The 920 more influenced by Partner and yet the 910 is a J'red original all the way through(but built on the Partner assembly line).....hence the agonizing hunt for certain parts like the air filter and bottom handle AV's.

Nice one Eric......I have several 621s and several more in parts and NOS parts but probably could not have passed on that one either......very nice low hr unit....

I own several Jonsereds from a 49SP to a 930 Super. I enjoyed looking at those brochures that were posted, but it got me to thinking. Of all the different models that are talked about on here I hardly ever see anything on the 1020, unless I've missed it since I'm not on here much. Seems like the guys that like 6 cubes saws would be looking for them. FWIW I only knew of one guy that ran a Jonsered on the Olympic Peninsula, and he was a "cedar rat". All I remember was he ran a 42" bar on it.

The 1020 is a Partner saw if I remember correctly, just painted J'red. Nothing against Partner, but I prefer J'red original saws. Compare the 111S to the 1020, well, they don't really compare. I remember the cedar rats well and them packing out the cedar blocks from a logging site. Actually, we called them 'shake rats' because that's what they did with the blocks off the site-make shakes outa them. 'The 900 series fared well in the PNW although they were completely overshadowed by Husky as far as numbers. When I logged in CO, there were a fair number of 910's starting to be used, but then there was a good dealer and saw shop in Montrose.

The 900 series also came at a time when the loggin' shows were into Third Growth and beyond and were getting by with 3/8" chain and 38" bars. I'd walk away from a show if my typical scale was over 27 logs to the load. I couldn't make decent money in that small stuff...just ran around in the stands like a bee on LSD. I even watched a guy from Wyoming hook up a backpack that contained gas/oil to the saw and tried to run it that way, so he wouldn't have to stop. I was always looking in his direction for a fireball. Darwinism usually takes those guys out at some point. Too many fools on that show, had to find another.

Yup, shake rats, cedar rats. You could make decent money back in the day, but you had to work for it. In about 1980 copters were $275/hr. Had to have a lot of slings made up! Yes, I remember being offered $18/thousand to cut a dog hair patch. Just thanked him and walked away. Appreciate the reply shephard.
