I'm sure he could be talked out of a few parts here and there. We already have a fair amount of 621 parts as well.

That would be awesome, thanks! I have a 621 to get running for my business and don't know exactly what I'm getting into yet in the way of broken or missing parts. The ignition parts will swap out from my 80/90 stock if necessary. We'll see what's proprietary to the 621 that I need.

Mentioning Jonsered(s) parts, does anybody know what happened with George Blake? I hope that he's still with us.

Some folks here recommended him highly for older Jred parts, and I bought a few parts from him around nine (??) years ago. I don't know if he had an actual store and/or website, we communicated through email. The last time I asked about Mr. Blake all folks knew was he was no longer selling parts.

EDIT--I just found a listing from him at CSCC, but have no idea how old it is.

Wondering where you're finding Jred esthetics (air filter cover, etc)?. Seems there's very few on ebay compared to a 372... That makes me being concerned about buying one (got a look on a 2171w).

Depends on the saw, their production numbers and the 'fan' base. If you can find a donor for $50-$75, there you go for your parts. Lots of places online have older J'red parts, but you'll PAY. You'll have a lot better luck with the xxxx J'red stuff than their older saws, especially if they are actually Partner/Husky saws in disguise. Doggedly searching eBay often turns up what you may need in cosmetic parts.

The guys can correct me if I'm wrong, but the 'newer' xxxx J'reds are just rebadged Huskies. But hey, you get the J'red paint.....lol

Kevin

That happened gradually, starting with the 630 in 1982, and was fully implemented over two decades later, when the 2095 was discontinued.

For the most part you are correct. The 2051/2054/2055 and 2094/2095 still had some Jred lineage. The 2050/2045/2041 and 2083/2077 are rebadged Partners.

Yes!

I had a mint 2054 (49cc version) and I hated it. I sold it off and sort of discounted the whole series, that is until I ran a 2054 that had been converted to a 2055 at a GTG a few years ago. I had been on the look out ever since. This one is in good shape, but not so good that you don't want to use it. Here's a picture of the 2054 I sold.

This is a 2055 that I picked up a while ago. I've been using it quite a bit lately (a lot of clean up work  ). It runs really good, but leaks bar and chain pretty bad. Another project for a cold winter day.

Is the bottom front of the crankcase/oil tank cracked? It's a weak spot on them. I have a couple of parts saw and a very good 2055 cylinder if anyone is looking. Don't have the time to build one.

It seems to be leaking out of the plastic cover on the bottom, but it's hard to tell. There is oil all over it.

I like the saw on top............LOL!!!
I like the others too....butt......

Well, I could have filled it with 49SP's, but I thought others might like the variety. Plus I didn't want you to have to build more 49er's, just to maintain your rightful title as "King of the 49SP's".

Here are some shots of the NOS parts box contents:

Wow...look at all them parts...yummy!!

There's a guy on the 'other' site in the J'red thread that just lucked into a very nice 111S. It was bought for a mill and then never used. It's got like a 16"-18" bar on it. That's the dumbest thing I've ever seen. I'm trying to make him understand what a ridiculous, impractical set-up that is. There are probably a hundred smaller saws more suitable for that little bar. Can you imagine lugging that thing around with a tiny bar on it? Everything he's says in his defense is telling me he's never going to use that saw/bar for a day anywhere. And that's fine, but why defend a tiny bar on a saw like that?
