Good idea Kev, and yes I have the wrist pin.

Mic that wrist pin....don't go back with a lot of wear and a new bearing....the wear is almost always right where the wrist pin rides inside the bearing...inside the piston on the pin ends, there is almost no wear. We're all rooting for ya on that old 111S....to get it snortin' again!

Maybe Robin would have some ideas on the wrist pin washers.....as far as finding something similar. J'reds did that a lot, but I'm thinking the 111S is mostly proprietary.

FedEx arrived today with my other 52. It's a good looking original unmolested saw with all the parts, although it does have an odd "repair" on the chain tightener.

I also noticed that this saw has the silver color inset on the chain guard and the recoil screen appears different than other 52/49 class saws I've had. The screen on this recoil is flat.

The flat screen on the recoils is consistent with an earli(er) saw, as I recall it, which fits with the serial number showing in post #6572:

The rebuild is coming along nicely. In my cash of parts I found a 16" Tilton Super Bar which is actually a Tsumura, However, I'm needing a couple of things that weren't on the original saw.
So, I hit the Ebay and found this 52 last night. Seller wanted $50 with shipping included. I'll use the black air cover, on/off switch and probably the recoil handle but there's alot of other good parts on there for 50 bucks.

I can't see all digits, but enough to know it is a relatively early one.

Hello there veryone,
is there anyone interested in a running jonsered 801? This is the one i have posted about here before. H20161124_103115.jpg 20161124_103138.jpg 20161124_103123.jpg 20161124_103144.jpg as new Cabers that haven't broken in yet, carb kit intake gaskets, fuel lines with a 20" bar. This big beauty is just too much for me for what I need. I got this at a garage sale for really cheap. I'm not looking for alot of money but I really don't know own what it is worth so shoot me an offer gentlemen. Oh yes before I forget. It will not come with the chain.

Hard time to sell a saw Christmas around the corner .
oil pump work ? What is the compression now ?
Is the bar in good shape ? .050 or .058
Is it 3/8

The last saw I purchased came .404 .050 had to pickup a new bar and chain
It ran good cut left hand turns perfect lol

I know hard it's to sell time, the oiler does work. It's been a free months since I ran it but it worked then. The compression was 210 after I replaced the rings and deleted the base gasket. I've started and ran it briefly since but I have not tested the compression yet. I will tonight or tomorrow.

The bar is a 3/8 .050 and it's in pretty good shape. I'll include pics of the bar if your interested.

AF cover? If not, that's about $25 for a good one. Looks like a very decent 801 overall in condition.

As far as price, there's eBay and then the rest of the world. I wouldn't mind paying premium prices on eBay if the sellers were all honest(or were made to be). But as we all know, that's not the case. Garage sales, craigslist and the like reveal a totally different price structure. I keep hoping that something else will come along and kick eBay's ass(or at least make them more humble), but for the most part that hasn't happened. It's like the monster we've all come to love/hate.

Hopefully, you'll come to terms with a forum member and everybody will be happy!

The 801 is a silver top 80 but with the top cover and AF of the 90. My 80 has given service for over 35yrs....so yeah, it will run ALL day without a sweat.

I replaced the pull cord today and rechecked the compression. It's sitting get at 225 psi with new Cabers that dont even have a full tank through them. The oiler also works very well.

I have been talking to a member about selling it. And I think is is sold. I will miss this beast but I honestly don't have a used for this awesome old machine.

Cool...love to know that saws were offered here and going to other members....that's always a win/win as far as I'm concerned!

I'm pretty excited to pass it on. It was an old USFS saw that was well cared for. I'm happy that it's going to a good home.

The AF cover is missing unfortunately but I left some room money wise if the gentlemen wants to replace it.

She is a runner, real good low end torque.

I am looking forward to the saw.
I picked up an 80/90 love it as a felling saw so I started watching this thread
saws are different than the Poulans . my wife told me I have to many green ones lol no she dosen't care
ebay thinks they must be gold plated so I got my first jonsereds after having to buy some new parts
turned out to be a good saw so my cad made me want another. I am sure in time I will have questions.
like are AF covers is there more than one model that fit this saw ?

The 90 has the same top cover and AF cover. I'm not sure what else, if anything....Eric or Robin would know.
