LOL....We'll see if they is bitin'.....gawd...if either of those sell for anywhere near that price you'll see nicer examples hit ebay from the "Rockbound Coast of Maine".......

Nice examples seem to be going HIGH....remember that nice J'red Eric sold awhile back? I don't think that was a fluke.

80/90 ROCKS 28 inch bar 80 90.jpg.
801 should be here tomorrow.
CAD has me wanting to try a 630 . my 3700 is my one saw I never leave at the shop.
80 90 655bp.jpg .
Will a D007 Poulan bar mount Fit a 80/90
Like to try 36 inch bar on it unless I would have to change the rim to 7 tooth
All I can say is this is a cool saw and I will use it more with the 28 inch

Your 80/90 is not gonna support a bar longer than 32" unless you're runnin' 3/8" chain and a seven tooth sprocket. You didn't say in your post if you're running .404 or 3/8"....I'll assume 3/8". Your 801 in 3/8" is gonna top out at 32" max....your 80/90 will top out at 36". Going into longer bars and that cc. stay with a seven tooth sprocket.

Your mount question;that's an extinct bar mount-10mm. You'll have to find an original 10mm bar mount or modify something newer. You could try to find some Husky large mount bars....but they don't always work, so try first. You might make a request on this site for 10mm bars.

yes 3/8 and 90% of the time only need 24 or less so for now I will enjoy it the way it is
this was the first time I have run both back to back the 10 cc's was not noticed much maybe can lean on the 6 cube more

Like Kevin said the large mount husky bars will some times fit. Depends on bar manufacturers tolerances. If not you can open up the slot a little bit and make it work. I have a 32" gb bar i've been meaning to try on my 920 wich is the same 10mm mount.

QUOTE="Just a Guy that cuts wood, post: 6072866, member: 139754"]I was thinking oil and tension slots[/QUOTE]

Yes...it's the old round versus square and square versus round issue. Personally, I would modify the bar before I'd modify the saw tension peg...due to the NLA issue of older J'red parts. And yes, the oil slots have to be similar at least to what the original bars had. The Carlton bar I bought from Bailey's and modified for my 80 worked just fine without oil slot modification. However, I've heard bad things about Carlton metallurgy as of late. There are some very decent bars out there now....check around and see if anyone has modded one for the 10mm mount. The large mount Husky bars' oil slots work fine as well. I used a die grinder bit to make the Carlton bar work.....that was OK, but opening up the rail slot for .404 chisel chain was a nightmare. Guy at Bailey's said it would be a piece of cake....sure, with a milling machine.

The 90 has a LOT of torque...I find myself leaning on it in the buck cuts probably more than I should...it's that strong. My only saw I can compare it to for that is the Husky 2100. Don't have anything inbetween....coveting a 394, but I'm broke and same story last Xmas when I was gonna pick one up....lol.

Theoretically the slot in the bar is a bit narrow for the bar bolts, but it should be easy to adapt it to work (if it doesn't as is).

I couldnt figure out what that thing was. Maybe have something to do with clearing chips. The threaded hole above that I think is part of the mount for the full wrap bar.

Oh and how do you like it so far?

Awesome! I had it running right for brake in of the rings..I'm at 2800 ft so it may need some adjustments. I'm at my 8-5 too..sucks when I want to tinker.

Oh I never thought of that didn't think brake was available

I just saw this question...fill piece for a chain brake. Ignore it(but leave it in so it doesn't collect chips in the cavity). My 80 has had that in there for 35+ yrs....doesn't hurt a thing.

Kevin

Well that was the first attempt at a chain brake.......not so good.....but when functioning correctly it would shut the ign down as well as push a brake shoe down onto the outer clutch drum when activated......it was never factory installed on a stock saw until the 521E....Prior, it was a dealer only installed option on all Jonsereds saws from a certain point on.....Niko can probably find the dates for that....early 70's until very early 80's I think. That pic is of the plastic carrier that housed the brake shoe......was present on these saws with or without the brake system....
