I almost had a nice 670 last fall. The guys wife sold it 20 minutes before I got there to pick it up.:(

I got the 625 oiling better after a little trial and error figuring which way was up on the screw. I'm missing the outer bar plate though, or is there even supposed to be one? I found an IPL on Chainsawr, but it won't seem to load past page one.

625-670 inner 501 81 48 01 266, 268, 272xp, 288xp,
625-670 outer 501 44 45 01 nothing

bummer on the outer. maybe something from partner/pioneer
i'll check some misc parts for an outer.

Thanks Lee. Smiling Randy has a set on ebay, he wants $16 for both, thats half of what I paid for the saw.:msp_w00t:

I may be able to find something that will work.

LOL...yeah, we do business all the time. However, he tends to be OUT OF STOCK on stuff for long periods. :wink2: He's told me he has everything but the handle bar to saw mount. I'm gonna double check that against the saw. These saws were so popular back here (PNW), I'd like to do some business closer as well. Maybe even a place I could walk into.:msp_rolleyes:

Scott has been good though over the yrs.

I know nothing about Jonsered saws.
I have a Husky 272XP project that I am trying to find parts for, is there a Jonsered equivelant that I can look for, to help the search pattern somewhat?

Any information would be helpful.

Thanks :)

There was never a red version of the 272XP, the closest was the 670 Champ.
Some parts swap, some parts don't. Some will swap if you swap out other parts with it.
If you have specific parts you need, post them here and someone will help you.

Thanks for the Info!!!
I know for sure I will need a top cover w/fastners
is there a J-Red that will work?

I found out yesterday that the small A/V buffers on my 625 are the same as the ones on a 41 husky carcass I had. So instead of needing 6 new ones all I need is one large one for the front.

The 670 (or 625/630) filter cover will not clear the standard 272XP filter housing (I assume the HD filter would be worse if anything). But, you could switch to a 266/61 elbow and filter and run a Jonsered cover. You would have to make sure the top cover was for a 630 SuperII, 625II, 670 SuperII or Champ. The filter cover from any 630/625/670 variant would work. And the Jonsered set-up uses captive nuts on the filter cover with posts in the rear so you would need those.

But, I would think finding a 272/268 cover would be easier.

I have picked up a few scrap Jonsered saws in the last few weeks and got off my butt and put one together out of the saws I had. This is my first running JRed and is one hell of a saw.

I used a 801 for the base and used parts off a 80 and a 621. This saw has a large Husky mount and I am low on these bars so I had to rob one off of one of my Homelites.

Got a chance last night to go through this 625II. Pretty nice saw.

Took it apart to change the crank seals and give it a all over and under clean up. This thing has a like new P/C and blows 170lbs compression. It only needed the crank seals, a new starter rope, a spark plug and the muffler painted. The fuel and impulse lines were great as were the carb diaphragms. The seals were no problem to change, pretty easy but I have done eaiser ones.

I gave it a little work today and it runs pretty good. Pulled a 20" bar just fine. Only thing wrong is it needs a new sprocket pretty bad. I looked and seen that they list two different ones by serial numbers and I think I need the later one. The Serial # is 6510034 and I'm thinking that this shows it to be a 96 model?

Looks pretty good cleaned up. Dont know if I'll keep it but I did like it so it might stay awhile.

Looks mostly like an 80 with a little 801 thrown in-sounds sweet. I never did understand the two saws; nearly identical and manufactured during the same period. I guess I've seen more 80's....I've had my 80 since 1979. Still pulls 155psi and probably more if I replaced the crank seals. They're probably the same as some Husky seal...1462 is the old Jonsereds #.
