That saw is so cool.

Got this idea of using a eletric saw to stone chains,
Wonder how it takes to mods!

It is a nice little saw but I need to fix the oiler first. It is supposed to be 13 amps and dims the lights in the garage when you hit the trigger. :)

I don't think this thing would hold up with a stone chain. The motor has a steel gear but it turns a plastic gear that drives the chain. I would imagine that would wear out rather fast.

Super clean 630 Jonsered 630 Turbo + McCulloch Pro Mac 700
How much were the 630's back in 1985? Certainly not $600.

He has that 630 on Ebay for $700.00 or Best Offer. He seems like a pretty clever cat...however ...there was never a 630 Turbo. He also says it is now basically a 670 Champ (68cc) But it has the 52MM cyl of the 272XP (72ccs) not the 50MM cyl of the 670... but maybe because it is still running the carb stup for a 61cc saw it may indeed run similar to a 670...dunno...very nice clean saw....

I don't know what a 630 Super sold for in 1985 but I have an 87 Gray top 61 Husky that sold (here) for $439 + Tax. I would expect the the 630 Super, (1) being a Jonsered and (2) being atleast one level up powerwise, would have sold (here) in the low $500.00 range. I bet ol' Spike60 has that info stashed away somewhere.......he sent my a price sheet for the last line of Jonsereds saws just before 6XX series a while back...perhaps he has price sheets on these as well...

Where was Child Labor when I needed them?
I've been going through my folks old slides and found this.
That's me with a Jobu SL2 (Frontier built, same as a Jred 36).
I was almost 6, and did run the saw that day (with a little help from dad).

Great pic!!

A 90 went through ebay the other day. It didn't have the recoil cover, but seemed complete otherwise. It was @$175 when I went to bed and had about 6hrs to go. I was gonna bid on it, but I never got back in there...wonder what it went for?

Somehow this reminds me of my marriage. Especially the chainsaw part. :)

Good to know you are still active Roland, and what a sweet find. I have pretty well used 910 that was at one time set up heated handles, or maybe that was the 930?

Anyway, the 910 is a pretty strong saw but not exactly fast.

Congratulations Roland, and be sure to touch base with us from time to time.

I'm working on a 670 Champ, and need bar plates. Are they still available or will something for a Husky match up? Did they use an outer plate or just an inner one?

IIRC , it uses both, & plates from some the Husky 26X (268) eries of saws should work, also the Jred 625 & 630.
