carb gaskets the two different block gasket intake side and one have any tip where to find them and a exhaust gasket too
i know the saws are awesome saw that's why I'm trying to find the parts so bad the pulse gasket is he one i need most on making its weird where the pulse area is I DONT really understand why the pulse hole doesn't line up with the hole in gasket and do you pound out the indent some making one or just leave it flat and does anyone run a chip on these saws that eliminates the condenser and pointsThere is no "place" to just buy these gaskets. You may find them piecemeal on ebay but you have be constantly scanning for them daily. You are trying to operate a saw that is nearly 40 years obsolete and others are as well, so when NOS parts show up they go away quickly. It's not that the 52/52E are bad saws.......just the opposite actually but dealer support went away in the early 80's when the Jonsereds company was bought out. In order to keep these great saws working properly you must learn new skills. Gaskets are not to difficult to make, especially if you have an old complete one for a template. Granted the isolation block to cyl is probably the most challenging, but not undoable.

The impulse corridor doesn't line up because it doesn't have to. The impulse corridor is made into the face of the isolation block in such a manner that it actually does line up with the hole in the carb. You don't have to cut the corridor in the gasket.....the gasket just has to have enough surface material to cover the face of the isolation block and the impulse hole in the gasket cut to line up with the carb. See the difference between the diamond shaped gaskets supplied with all kits and the Jonsereds specific gasket in the second pic?i know the saws are awesome saw that's why I'm trying to find the parts so bad the pulse gasket is he one i need most on making its weird where the pulse area is I DONT really understand why the pulse hole doesn't line up with the hole in gasket and do you pound out the indent some making one or just leave it flat and does anyone run a chip on these saws that eliminates the condenser and points
There ya go....that'll work though I personally would not use the cyl base gasket. It looks to be quite thick. It would probably be a good pattern to make a correct one. The OEM gaskets are only 0.007" compressed and 0.0011" new. Using a thicker gasket will lower compression some. Will run ok just not as good as it should. If you don't think you can make the needed gaskets, go on ebay under 49sp or 52. They are currently listed.
yeah but notice when saw shuts down the spark is orange and under compression its too weak when you first check spark is way better more whiteIf you have a coil problem, (as you thought you had) a chip will NOT help you. Do you have spark at the plug?

As far as chips go...I've had them on several saws. They work.... but again, not as good as properly set and timed points. Better than a not running saw but not as good as the saw was meant to be.
what do you guy run for exhaust gaskets .regular paper type or whatThere ya go....that'll work though I personally would not use the cyl base gasket. It looks to be quite thick. thanks Cantdog for the tip with the leather punch ,got one at Harbor Freight and now I'm selling gaskets as a biz and making millions in the next few months bahaha ,making gasket are fun as hell nowi know the saws are awesome saw that's why I'm trying to find the parts so bad the pulse gasket is he one i need most on making its weird where the pulse area is I DONT really understand why the pulse hole doesn't line up with the hole in gasket and do you pound out the indent some making one or just leave it flat and does anyone run a chip on these saws that eliminates the condenser and points
great info right here thanks Cant dog ill make a note of these saws ,if i have any more issues with the intake side im sure I can make a good one now .the leather punch is the cats ass for gaskets .Also I should add that this carb to isolation block gasket can be had very easily. The carb gasket for a Husky 61, 66, 266,268,272 will work just fine in this application.
NO LOUVERED ,DONT KNOW HOW TO DATE THESE SAWS SERIAL # IS 666679 GUESSING ITS A 79 SAME YR A GRADUATED HIGHSCHOOLIf you have a louvered muffler, check the spark screen under the louvers.

YES I MADE A GOOD ONE ,ONCE I FIGURED OUT WHAT TOOL TO USE, still don't trust the saw yet I'm running it again tomorrow to see if it will shut down like usual at around 10 minutes in ,talk with a buddy who has a vintage saw and sled show and he fought a saw like this he changed everything twice and no matter what he did couldn't get it to stay running new coils condenser points carb kits and his would go like 1 hr and shut down and would not start ,this saw is one weird saw also ,these saws have many variables one thing off and bam you will have issues ,at least I've got decent gaskets in it now ,and will weed out the rest soon ,still think its electrical but we will see
