If you put gasket goo all over the place and block of the impulse corridor, you will not get impulse from behind the gasket to the hole opening to the carb. I think this has been covered but do you have a good spark at the plug when you pull the starter with the plug grounded to the cylinder??
im good for the intake gaskets now ,and got spark but she dies in 10 minutes and it orange spark ,when u first light it up its bright blue white spark ,that orange spark tells me a lot its too weak to re-fire under compression

If you have a coil problem, (as you thought you had) a chip will NOT help you. Do you have spark at the plug?
yes I'm just asking about the chips ,if i find a coil and use a chip trying to get the low down how many tried this method and how it works

WORKIN ON IT SOON im going to run what i got first to see,DO U HAVE THE POINTS GAP FOR THIS SAW ????

Have you cleaned and gapped the points properly yet? This would be the very first thing that should be checked before throwing parts at it. These are very dependable ign systems and require little attention once set up correctly.
I JUST A did A CARB KIT,,and plug , THE SAW WAS LEFT FOR DEAD ,IT HADNT RUN FOR DECADES CYLINDER IS PERFECT AND PISTON ,THE TANK IS VERY QUESTIONABLE AS THE PAINT COVERING IS ALL GONE .it started on the 2nd pull after I cleaned the tank out ,was running fine ,then slowly went to a carb rebuild ,never did run it long ,then it start just shutting down after 10 min of hard use and tank filter and line there

OK CANTDOG WHEN TURNING THE CRANK I SEE ZERO MOVEMENT WHERE I THINK THE POINTS SHOULD BE IS THIS POSSIBLY THE 52E SYSTEM ? OR WHERE DO YOU ADJUST THESE ?

now i know why they sell a screen filter behind the pull starter on these saws never seen a load of crap behind a fly wheel that thick you could tell these saws were working cut wood that`s for sure

I bought it as a parts saw, my 52e quit running so I decided to swap that electronic junk for old school points and condenser. I dumped gas in carb just for the hell of it and it took off after 2 pulls. I just finished swapping it into my 52E and it runs great. You probably shoulda made sure those points weren't roasted when you were in there.

i did they look good ,saw runs for around 10 minutes and shuts down and it wont re fire right away not sure what it is yet did all the duel stuff and started on the points ,still working the links out the fuel issue was suspect where the vent line was that little ball didnt rattle on vent tube not it does but not removed that copper tip because it was not working that copper had all stuck together no air could get by it.to breathe ,so took that out .,but now cleaned up the points and flywheel area ,and will test it again ,did see 3 wire broken on the winding coil in there electrical taped it up really all i could do ,not sure what i could of done for that

broken on the coil winding?

i had 3 smashed on my 80 but still making contact, that turned 3 winds into one winding. Someone ran puller screws in too far and smashed them down. It's easy to do
