so your saying you cant test it with a needle ohms meter ?go to harbor freight and get a cheap digital one. your short changing yourself. even a good one doesnt cost ****
i sent my number call me
I GAVE IT A 100 QUESTION TEST WITH 1 HR TIME LIMIT ,IT PASSED WITH FLYING COLORS BUT IN THE WOODS AFTER A 30 MINUTE MOTO IT GAVE UP THE GHOST AND DECIDED THAT`S ENOUGH FOR THE DAY, LETS GO DRINK WHISKEY BAHAHAhow
did you test that new condenser?
pretty sure now the on off switch could be a problem i set the saw up and no spark unplug the switch got spark ,what im going to do is tape up that wire going to switch and run the saw and see if it stays running ,my question is running the saw this way is there any down side while testing ,,,im seeing a weak link on these switches this is my second one .and now it failedAn analog ohmmeter is the best friend you will ever have when it comes to electrical testing.
I think you should take a time out and test one thing at a time start out testing to make sure no wires are reading to ground then test that you have next to zero ohms across your points with the condensor wire and coil wire removed for test purposes pull wire from switch check to make sure switch is not grounding in the on position test the ohm value of the primary and then the secondary side of the coil check the condensor.
All these tests should only take 15 min or so.

what does it matter if it was up side down its either sparky or no spark i generally plug in on the top and tape off the bottom so it cant ground outNo harm will be done tape it good so it can not short to ground.Test the switch with your ohm meter I have had saws where the previous owner mounted them up side down.

where about are you up there i use to go up weekly trucking to red rock pulp mill and a gold mine up there way up and fishing around lake Nipigon BEST fishing everSledhead I guess you are one of the closest Arborist site members to me you are only 160 miles away.I have spent many enjoyable days and nights in Duluth and Superior .Is Minnesota Surplus still in business?

pretty sure its the wire have no way of testing switch for now ,you can pull saw with switch plugged in and see the spark vary then unplug and see it more steady super bad weather has delayed testing ,thaw break up is **** now too hard to get into the area I'm cutting my guess is the wire has rubbed threw on block as it passes thru the small space ,the saw with run great and die with now other issues i can tell ,its electrical 100% at this point just haven't torn out the wire yet but I'm going tootest the switch in the on position to ensure it is not grounding.
