Interesting post with actual somebody using the stuff they coment on! Now I know I am a Jred head but I am more interested in your chain experience than the saws.
In my limited experience as a firewood cutter I cant really complain about the 3/8 low pro safety chain. I find it cuts only a tinny bit slower than the non safety chain. However I tried some brand new .325 Oregon had two loops of it with my 4620/295 Poulan and thought the stuff might cut it's way out of a wet paper bag but that is all it's good for:censored: I think it was called 33sl or something like that but it was crap in my opinion. I did not find the low pro safety 91 seres chain all that bad I have cut a fair amount of wood with that stuff.
I have never tried reg 3/8 safety chain but I will pick up a loop one day just to see how good or bad it really is.To be fair I will run it against reg round ground chain, But before I do that is all Safety chain Semi chisel? I have tried semi chisel and did not like it much.

I turn aound 200T's same day to pros... did 5 last Thursday! Try that with the off-brands around here.

I know this might seem like a loaded question ,but why don't tree crews run stihl more? There are plenty of loggers that use them right? Lots of firewood guys use them, so why don't they get used by tree crews more. Woodie is right I can't think of a time I have seen Stihls being used on the ground. Don't give me that This brand is better than that brand crap. We all know there are many great saw manufactures and its mostly just what the operator likes, but what is it with the tree crews. Is it a price thing?

I will, under duress, admit to boxing some up and sending them back... Now.. if they'd been 200T's, they'd have been 100% repairable..:greenchainsaw:

I finally sold my last 335 .........Only took a year..........The other one was a good runner when it ran and I gave it away for free.....

yes. Just a lack of dealers around here..,,, RB's the only guy I've ever seen up a tree without a 200T, and most of the time even he has one, even if he has to borrow it

Say what you like about the 20T/200T, but reliability isn't one of the issues, and they sure can take wild abuse and still be fixed pronto. Yep, you'll only get 2-3 years of constant use from the Zama carb, but...
Sure... I have bunch of experience with 200T's.. and that make it dead easy. The 335/338 sales are so thin around here you'll never get good (quick - like "today", and "inexpensive") local service - nobody has spent the time to figure out their quirks.

30 series SL probably is the worst chain Oregon ever made (at least anywhere close to recently).
It is low-profile .325 chain, with huge "safety" bumpers on the tie-straps.
I believe the SL is discontinued by now, and the 30-series LG as well.

Even stock, the Jonny is ever ever ever ever so slightly lighter, and depending on which rounded measurement you use (kw or hp), almost 10% more powerful. Basically you're getting an extra 4 CCs with no weight penalty.
But you'll never convince the Stihlheads...

I believe the Husky NE338xpt will perform exactly the same.
They are based on the original 338, with some improvements that was tested out on the Jonsered 2135.
The rear-handle version is the NE339xp (the old one was never sold in the US), but that one has a tad more power.

I bought my 200t used. It's pretty beat up and was recently diagnosed with some scratches on the piston. I am not using the saw full time but need something to climb with. My 191t runs great but is a little heavy for in the tree.
At $600. a pop for a 200t maybe this new king would suit me better. Will the jony hold up to a beating as the stihl would? The lighter weight is a plus and it sounds like it has the power. Does anyone have a price?
