Not a faller goddess. I feared this little tree would not go down. I ended up tryingg a Slopping Coos Bay on it, as it was leaning up the hill a bit with all the branches on that side. I didn't mean for it to slop. But first, I held a safety meeting and a completely new hazard was present....dog logs from The Used Dog. I was entering his bathroom!

The tree went over even though I did my usual "pull the saw out too early" and the hinge was too thick to break off. Then the tree was not on the ground. I went into my bucking mode and did the acceptable for trails but not for logs, little cookie slivers and it finally hit the ground. I am not proud of my work, but thought I'd make more of a fool of myself and post pictures of it.

I wore the prize chaps but they need some velcro or duck tape to shorten the legs some. Look, they got some dirt on them--not dog logs.

Now, should I throw the slash on the hillside for erosion control? Or drag it to my burn pile area which isn't too far away?

Next time, a smaller alder and maple. I'm cutting back the jungle. It is getting too close to the house.
