Nice old SXL! Just hooked up with a guy over in Columbus who has two of them to sell. I'll be heading that way soon.

Don't know if it'll make a difference, but your fuel cap is definitely not original. If your cap is vented, you should be okay, but if it's not, vacuum in the fuel tank may interrupt your fuel flow. Just sayin'....

I have one my father bought brand new in 1977 and it's painted red. I love firing up that old saw as it brings back my childhood. She's loud, smokey, and for a moment I feel like I'm back in the woods cutting firewood with my dad.

I believe the model is around 1960 towards a 1970 but probably no earlier then that mine looked like View attachment 314096t
