I was wondering today at work when and how one would be able to get ahold of any of the saws FEMA bought and will soon be getting rid of. I havent the slightest idea of where to begin looking.

Thanks, KC

I suspect most of them will be pilfered long before they can be tracked down and gathered up for sale. I suspect almost none of them have been properly maintained and most likely all of them have been abused/ misused. I wouldn't want one.

Rarely will used saws like that be as much of a 'deal' as you hope. Many will get run up to within $100-$150 of a new saw. Then you get it and the bar is bent or not the size you want, and the sprocket is original. By the time you buy a bar, chain, sprocket, air filter and whatever else, you are within $50 of a new saw. And for a $50 discount you got some saw that was beat to death and abused for 6 months, run on God knows what fuel mix and run hot how many times???

Nope, for $50 difference I'll buy a new saw.

Now that sounds like something I could fix!:blob2:

Depending on location, however, the old parts are easier to get and less expensive. If it were my livelihood I would have to purchase new.

And there will be waves of parts saws a cummin.
