the redwoods
Just wondering what some of you other guys would estimate this job being worth. It is about 40 redwoods around some houses on a property that have already been trimmed once or twice, so the branches aren't that large and won't have to be lowered. The owner says he has other people hired to pick up the branches and will burn them in his burn pile.

I figure you are talikng about limbing up these trees? Just offer to do one for free, so you know exactly what they want and how long it will take, then times that by the number of trees. You will probably get faster as you go, knock a little off. Does this help at all?

on large jobs I default to a daily rate for me my crew and equipment. Unless there are hazardous removals involved. Those will always be quoted based on the difficulty.

If you quote big jobs per tree you will never underbid someone like me at a daily service rate.

does 3500 sound about right. just typical redwood limbing i figure for 3 days, 2 climbers and 2 ground crew?
