Local Saw Shop Credit

Any of you regular saw shop junkies get credit at your local shop. Around here our Stihl dealer has nearly all of his clientel on credit. Though I buy most of my supplies from Madsen's it has been really nice all this time. Good people, just a little more expensive. If so, do you find it easier to buy what you can't really afford? About 40% of our customers have revolving credit. Probably 90% of our fallers. We do about $180 000.00 a month this way.

I think I'd be afraid to have a charge account at the saw shop...waaaaay too much temptation!

We give credit to the larger accounts mainly so their crews/ employees can come in and get repairs or supplies. For others sometimes we work on the honor system - "take the bar oil, drop the money off next your passing". "Sorry, won't take a credit card for a file - drop of the money next tme". It works...
