Its called the blockdriver, developed by Reg, who is a member here on AS. you can see it in action if you go to youtube and search for regcoates.

I am sure if you google "blockdriver" you can find a place that carries it.

The original "blockdriver" video has been removed from YouTube for some reason. However, below is a link that shows Reg Coates using the block driver. There's also some other interesting techniques worth noting: 1) screw eye block attachment, and 2) sawn false crotch.
Ash Tree Removal Part 3 (youtube)

Found two UK links that sell the Blockdriver:
Coates Blockdriver from Proclimber (UK)
Blockdriver from Treeworker (UK)

Here's a sequence of pix of the Blockdriver (Treeworker.co.uk):

I bought one overseas from Reg and the whole transaction worked out fine and the machine works fine too.

Not something you need all the time but when you do, you got it. Another tool in the box.

I've been carrying my recording unit in a climbers chalk bag hitched to a carabineer off the back of my saddle. If anyone has found something they like, I'm all ears.

POV is selling a chest harness for the unit.

Don't know if I would like the recording unit on my stomach just above my saddle. The camera mounted on the shoulder would give you a different perspective though.

That block driver looks like a interesting device - cool invention. Could be useful on some willows I've done recently. What's the price range?
