He was cutting ivy off the locust with his craftsman saw one sunday afternoon. Went a little deep on the left lower side huh? Thing is, That notch is headed right at his house.
After he slit her open he put the saw back in the shed and went back to his grill.

I'm no arborist, but I'd say duct tape would handle that, no questions.

Pretty good notch for an amateur.

Thats what i said! I watched the whole thing from the other side of my rifle scope inside my house while one of my neighbors lopped up this tree.
I heard a saw start one sunday eve and jumped up to see who cause I know there aren't to many people around here able to operate one. Turns out noone around here is able but me.
I would not have stopped him for all the tea in China. Hold on let me see if I have another pic

Yup right at his house

i understand people make mistakes, I really do. I think this guy is in a little denial right now. I told him I thought it was no good so he calls another idiot( another tree co) which was supposed to do something to save it ( what I don't know) but they haven't been able to get there. The Dan just watches.

I am going to sue this guy for ruining the view from my bay window. This tree WAS a bee-uut. He sliced into that tree with as much thought as a fat kid eating another Tastycake.

And I thought the "nut" was Dan, silly me. :monkey:

See? How does it feel to know you have been wrong the whole time?
Thing is, that scope is real good. I could see everything. I thought he WAS going to send that puppy out on that notch. I was watching cause I thought he knew something I didn't.
I will take a scope over binocs anyday.

Carried away? heck thats just a good start. He wanted to land that tree in his living room. Right?
Why people do what they do or the reason they do it, Is beyond me. :monkey: I have a hard time understanding myself sometimes let alone what someone else is thinking.

Hey ! It's just a little bit of wood. The tree has plenty left.

It has been a year by now. He was just trying to get the ivy off, it was very thick and he shouldn't own a saw. Really, there is no need for a guy like him to have one at all.

That little knick isn't going to hurt anything. Why stuff a wad of gum in there or hit it with some gorilla glue or paint and it'll be good as new.

StihlRockin' :D

well I will continue to take pics as time goes on. Maybe The Dan will climb it, I don't know. Its an easy TD and the wood is nice. There was talk of saving it, I have no idea how or why one would think it wise.
But anyway, did this guy cut a notch towards his house and go back to eating Bar-B Que or what? he has kids living there. I should call the authorities.

You know .... a Philly Cheesesteak and a bottle of ice cold Yuengling sounds really good right now... better than a Tastycake!

Why wouldn't you want to save it. That notch isn't big enough to worry about at this time. Over time as it becomes a cavity (if it does) then removal may be an option. At this time however, (unless I'm not interpreting the picture correctly), that tree still has a low probability of failure.

Being from Pa as is Dan, one of the first things taught in hunter safety courses is to never, NEVER point a rifle at a person or use it as binoculars. I don't care whether you think or know the gun is unloaded. Some things you just don't do. :angry2:

It's funny how many "unloaded" guns shoot people. Can't believe no one else here is hammering you for this. Go to hunting pa and submit your post and see what kind of response you get.
