We had our third early windstorm last nite...been ages since I've had any leaf-on storm damage, now three already.

Today, we did a 115 foot hemlock leaning in another, house directly behind. Root rot in both, root plate loose on the leaner.

Used the 0 stretch Plasma line to back tie it to neighbor's cedar, (old customer) up 40 feet only, as we ran the line over the neutral, and under the 7600 volt primary, 5-1 fiddle blocks to tension it. Then three more lines, two lowering/stabilizing, one side tied to a cedar. It was easy, as it was a light leaner, but with the butt rot in the supporting tree, caution was the order of the day. I only feel a little sorry for the folks, with the unexpected $1800 bill....I bid the trees 3 years ago, and warned them that they were hazardous...I should have pressed the issue I reckon.

Nearby was a 110 foot bigger hemlock, fully foliage, flat on a house, roots totally rotten. I hope to get that job... I also bid it and two others hemlock three years ago...

Sold a $2000 job two houses away, mostly normal work, but two dead trees snapped off last nite.

Dang, if and when the snow flies, will I get time off to ski???

I'm too busy to post pics...maybe later....much later.
