Has anybody else noticed more hesitation problems when it's really cold outside? Mine ran good in the summer and fall (only had it since Feb 2013), but really notice the hesitation more when it's cold outside. I'm in Oklahoma, so I realize my cold might not be everybody else's cold. but when it's about 35 or below, I notice the hesitation. We've had a few warmer days here lately and the hesitation was gone. Mine is tolerable however, it just bogs for a second or two, doesn't die. What I end up doing when it's cold is walking around blipping the throttle when I'm not cutting (keeps the bog away). My wife thinks I'm Tim the "toolman" Taylor gone mad when she goes with me to the woods.
Your saws will run quite a bit leaner in cold weather.

So is this winter kit really important even if my saws don't get set down in the snow. I've been running them in below zero temps without problems or carb icing

The plugs I got came with the winter shutter kits. I just tapped the knockout out And put the cover on and it didn't seem to help. Cut about two dozen cookies. For the 550 and 562 xpg's the plugs are in the winter cover kit.

I know every 550 through me has had winter kits..... But what do you need a winter kit for anyway, you live in da souf Mr Mastermind....
