Thanks Again Guys,
I gotta say, This saw is a big PITA.
I have had the tank on and off about 50 times
or more trying to get things to fit.
Tomorrow is hopfully paint day if the weather
is good.
Not sure what i'm going to use for air filtration.
I might make somekind of foam thingy to seal
the bottom of the fuel tank around the carb.

Got a bit more done last night and today.
Throttle rod, Air filter mount are done.
I have room for the fuel line and i can still
adjust the carb through the hole in the side
of the air box.
Next will bead blast the tank and filter cover,
Then give them some nice paint.
While the paint is setting up i can assemble
the motor and maybe make smoke next weekend.

Lovely job lee, what you have done has of coarse been done before but yours is nicely done and i'm sure will perform...

Is that a HL Tilly Lee its an easy fit as its much smaller than the BDC .

Thats a snowmobile carb Lee i have tried and used them here cant beat was origionally done by Mac that reed wont flow the air required compared to a BDC and if you use the sloper manifold everything fits as long as you mod the airbox as you have done like mine

Got the fuel tank and filter cover painted today.
Here's a couple pic's of the cylinder head. Shows
where i welded a piece for the rear AV mount. Had
to shave the fins a bit to clear the saw shroud.

Ya McBob it's a HL360 kart carb. I went this route
so there would be alot less hacking in the air box
and AV mount. The mount i did not have to touch
at all. And the manual oiler will work as well. It may
not have as much RPM as yours but will still be a
strong runner. The sloper intake for the BDC will work
but the sloper i have for a HL would not fit. The angle
was way off so thats why i made my own intake.
Just a bid different than yours and i'm not going to the
races. I don't like copying others ideas.

I did the same i tried the reed sloper and the angle was wrong and as you would have noticed when you fit the tilly its a longer package so that why you laid back the opening on the carb the Mac BDC and sloper manifold work better and are easier to fit and with the BDC mounting the airbox cover is easier i just fit and bend a 3/16" bolt fitted through the top bolt hole on the BDC

Just another thought if you use the steel cylinder shroud off the 101 then you only need to drill two 3/16" holes in it to take the upper rear mount no need to weld the head or grind fins.
I have done that mod as well handy in saving busted cylinders where the rear mount breaks off the head on an SP125.
I also fit decompressors so you dont have to be a gorrilla to start it especially the 101.

Here's a project i have been toying with for awhile.
I got the 101 Kart motor awhile back from another
AS member "Thanks Dennis" After tearing it appart
i found it had a modded crank and was ported. So
i spoke with the Mac kart guru Terry Ives and he
recommended using a stock crank for this application.
I bought one from him so i could get under way with this.
I also had the block bored. It was standard but needed to
be freshened up. Took .016 to clean it up nice.
More pic's in a minute.

The big holes below the ports are to lube the piston thats all and dont effect the intake flow
