McCulloch 640 gear drive oil weight

Here is the big 640 Guido Salvage, very hard to come across over here is Aus this one just feel into my hands and cheap also.

Nice 640 SC. Although you do not see many of these saws come up, they are indeed around over here in Australia. I have a couple of 640's which I picked up a while ago - here is one which came in with a really nice 1-86 gear drive, CP125, and SP105.

Enjoy that Mac geardrive - they are good old saws to play around with.

No way no how is tranny fluid to be used in a gear case like this. It would be like pouring in water well not that bad but you get the idea:msp_cursing:

Chris that is a nice looking line up you have there. I have seen very little in Aus but i know they were popular years ago in NTH QLD where i was from but most went to the junk heap i was told.

Ok bringing this one back from the archives, I pulled the 640 out of the shed and gave it a run and it ran like s..t. It is in need of a carb kit but i want to put a tillotson carb and get rid of the old flat back, can anyone give me a tillotson carb number i should use. Thanks.
