I got a 1-60 I like a lot. Comfortable saw to use for me anyway, good balance. At 80cc with that gearbox makes a big difference on power. I'd like to find the other 1-60's saws and have the set. Maybe in time...

My 1-60. Even came with a nice old McCulloch roller mac bar and NOS loop of Pro 1/2" chipper chain. Runs pretty good.

That bar appears to have been converted from a solid nose to the roller nose. Look at the logo and I believe it will say "Solid Welded Tip", I have a 640 that came with a similarly modified bar.

We talked about this awhile back. It looks so good and even we all agreed it was a factory job with the solid welded tip. Only bar like it I have run across thus far... I remember your bar as well. I need to find some more interesting mcculloch items...

I have several rollernoses I suspect of this as they have Stellite for a couple of inches before the gap for the roller.

Been looking for some of this size chain for awhile... luckily it finally came around and in nice shape in the box... 9/16" just doesn't come around often it seems like 1/2" chain does.

With my acquisition of a Remy SL-5R and a Mall OMG sporting loops of 9/16" I've snagged a hodgepodge of presets and repair kits. 9/16" compared to 3/8" is impressive.

Those last few pieces look interesting. I have only run 3/8" chain maybe 3-5 times. I'm .404, 1/2" or 9/16" now... Also got real lucky on a 6' loop of 9/16" full chisel ... Hard enough finding chipper but the chisel is near impossible i think anyway... Rare stuff. Second pic compared to .404 micro bit chisel...

I haven't done anything with it yet. I have it mounted on my 77 I recently got. Can't decide what to do as I collect chain. I may never find anymore chisel in that size so it's a dilemma for me at the moment. I'm looking for older Mac chain. I really want a loop of scratcher for my 3-25 two button saw. A perforated bar would be nice too but that is a needle in a field full of haystacks. Fun looking for this stuff though...

I looked awhile and finally got a nice 77. Been sitting awhile but is in great shape. I made all new gaskets and took it all apart minus piston/rod/crank, cleaned it out and put it back together. New crank seal also, cleaned the carb and diaphragm was still nice and supple/pliable. I need to rebuild the oiler or clean it out it's s bit weak but the saw runs great. Usually one or two pulls and it idles real nice. I just don't have any big timber here to sink that bar into. My other half talks about retiring out west and I'm thinking about all the big wood out there and the gtg episodes. Then I could put it to good use.

I got lucky and also have a parts 77 saw coming and found yet another. One has a good engine piston, cylinder and the other is frozen but still many good parts. This stuff is still out there collecting dust just gotta find it. Seems I get lucky every now and then finding saws. I've passed by quite a few others would have bought no doubt but not what I was looking for. I only look for certain models myself to keep the collection under control. Anyway time to hunt some more.....

I think Randy once talked about a saw that would make your blood foam, I guess a 77 with 9/16" skip might just do the trick.

Yes he did... said he had a saw so rare he had to get rid of it because it was too rare for him to keep I remember. Then I asked him to possibly get in touch with the guy down the road he traded with to see if he still had it but nothing ever became of it. I guess he forgot or just never had time. If I lived out there I'd have been at his house the next day..

No it was a two button 3-25

New arrival this week.











Never been fueled, even so the duckbill valve in the fuel cap has turned to whale snot...may have to replace that so I can fire it up and go start cutting up the driveway. It came with a metal blade as well so when I finish the driveway and sidewalks I can start chopping up the old Ranger as well.

I also have two different versions of the 795 based cut off saw, one sold at the "Target Quickie" and the other as "Stowe"





The Target had been converted to at Tillotson HL carburetor and does run O.K., the Stowe is quite worn out and will need a new cylinder and piston one day, parts are in the attic but time is an issue.

Roland (Belgian) has a 10 Series Target saw based on the 7-10 power head sold as a "Brilliant"



There is also a cut off saw based on the 300 Series McCulloch saws called the 390. I had one in my hands at the flea market in Baraboo a few years ago but failed to get back in time to buy it.

Seen one of the 795-based cutoff saws on a online auction up here recently, not in bad shape either. Think it was labeled as a "Racine Rail" or "Racine Rail & Iron" cutoff saw, if my memory is correct.
