So what does everyone do about the often missing carb adjustment grommet on the 1-xx and next generation saws? I have a Mac 250, and am wondering what I can do to retain carb adjustability and keep out the dust?

I have seen duct tape applied to cover the opening...I have the luxury of swiping one off a parts saw in the attic when I need one.

You could perhaps glue a piece of inner tube to the inside of the air box and cut two small X's in the inner tube where your adjustment screws are located and stick a screwdriver through said X's when needed and when you pull the screwdriver out it would close up

Or any kind of a rubber flexible patch could be used it wouldn't have to be a chunk of inner tube however I'm sure your local tire shop would give you a junk inner tube to cut pieces out of

Guys I'm looking for a gas tank for my super 250 so I can actually gear it run on its own instead of on spray I don't have a lot of cash so please be gentle

If it's the same tank as a 1-42 I'm sure I can get you set up, but you will have to be patient

You will need a tank from a model with the automatic oil pump like the 450 or 550 if you can't find another Super 250 parts saw. The 380A also had an automatic oil pump but the design was different and I am not sure they will interchange.

Josh Roundtree has a saw he was gonna give me I've just had a real lousy past couple weeks with not working thanks to Illinois budget deal that the bad part of having a state supported construction job but it's gonna a look up sorry go bother you with that my bad mine has a manual oiler is it automatic also

I tried unsuccessfully to pickup a nice looking PM850 with a black AF cover and a 7-10A off LetGo. Thankfully the Seller refused to ship and rejected my first offer for the 850 as over the course of a week of exchanges I learned that both saws suddenly quit. If they had been runners Brian was going to take the 7-10A. After I found a way to pick up the saws I made an offer for both assuming lean seizures. The Seller rejected my offer and said that she would just fix them herself. Maybe someone here can figure out local pickup and offer more than me so here is the ad.
