Indeed they do, in fact I think some people make their whole living from it, especially if they provide links to Amazon products.

Good Morning,
I just got my first Mcculloch pro mac 850. I am currently working on it but tracking down parts has been interesting. It is my first ever mac. Fingers cross I find all the parts to get this throwing chips again.

Wow what a first Mac.

Tell us some more show us some pictures. Whats wrong with it??

Well some one left fuel in the tank and I had to clean that out which was a venture in itself. All the fuel lines are destroyed along with all other all fuel related gaskets. Having a hard time finding fuel lines, looking for those now or a work around. I had to find a starter drive shaft, which I just found 2. The cylinder looks amazing for how old it is. I am at work right now. I will post some pics of it when I get off. I am very excited to get it to start just waiting to find parts that are reasonable. Thanks for the support this is just the first of many build I hope.

Oh yeah, I couldn't believe it. Does any one know they part number for the fuel line or possibly where i might be able to find one? I am leary of the ones on some sites, as I am not sure what part number or diameter of fuel line and grommet I am looking for.

I don’t know the dimensions off hand, but I am sure someone else will chime in who does or has a good source for them and a part #. You can always just measure the hole with calipers and go from there. I’ve seen people use grommets, small hose within a larger hose and aluminum bushings to fix the problem. There’s posts in this thread about fuel lines and the remedy if you search a bit.

I can't help you too much as I've been lucky with lines so far and our gas is kind to them here. Basically the aftermarket oem replacement lines from reading here go hard n nasty. You can get away with a "moari" job of a regular line and a larger bit of rubber tube as a grommet in the tank wall.

1 joker here (Maintenance supervisor) uses a stihl line Screenshot_20201017-163959_Samsung Internet.jpg

I have a 10-10s that I used a larger diameter fuel line over a smaller as a grommet, the P.O. drove a 1/8th" pipe plug into the thank hole and then drilled a crooked port in that. Ahh it leaked.
Any way as far as the stihl line I haven't had any leaks with it ,but the tank side is a little shorter than the OEM so keep the tank at least 1/4-1/2 full. You could always put a extension on the line in the tank but keeping the tank full is sound advice also.

That is awesome too. I live in a pretty small town so it might be hard to find the bushing but I will definitely keep that in mind. And I may have to order it once I find out the diameter of the opening on the 850 tank.
I made the bushings on a lathe. If you can’t find a solution to your liking a can make one for your 850 no problem. Just sit tight there’s plenty of knowledgeable Mac guys that frequent this thread and know way more than I do lol.

@Maintenance supervisor and @Goinwheelin awesome solutions i can't wait to try these out. Yea I want to use this thing for sure so whatever will work the best for cutting is what I will go with. @Goinwheelin for sure I will let you know. I really like how clean that looks. I have the stihl line coming so I will give that a shot and if it doesn't work how I like i will let you know about the bushing. Thanks everyone.
