Super 44 - I believe you will find the 6 tooth sprocket is 1/2" pitch.

A bit of an odd ball these days. I have had this stuff for a decade and every once in a while I dig in the box and think "I need to figure out what this fits". Might even have an extra "73" ring set. Is that little stamp a MAC stamp?

In this same box were a couple other drums with green paint and in a John Deere bag but they have a stamp on them that make me wonder if they are Mac?? Same 9/16 dia needle pin bearing and 3 1/8 ID drum but a 6 pin
.
I'm gonna go out on a limb here & say those green painted drums in a J.D.bag were for the older J.D.saws that were made by Remington.Models 17 & 19 come to mind which would be the Remy PL4 & PL5.

Yes, the little stamp is a Mac stamp. The one looks suspiciously like a .354 drum due to the one piece "rim" setup.
Dan - The Koyo J-1212 is 1" O.D. .750" shaft, but is .750" wide. Search for drawn cup needle bearings, I think that will help you in your search.

Edit - I believe you will find a 1210 is for a .750" shaft, 1" O.D., and .625" wide.

Thanks for the info! I'll report back with my findings soon. Well, I just checked and you are right, the Koyo 1210 matches the Torrington 1210's dimensions.

I think 2-10 with original carb had no choke. Just has a primer. Prime til ya feel it is pushing fuel and give it 2 pumps or so of fuel. Pull til it fires. If your quick you can give little 1/2 squirts on the primer each time it goes to die. Keep doing that til it stays running.
This one has a cube carb and a choke.

First make sure your jets are properly set, 1 turn out each from lightly seated.
Set your idle screw about 3 turns from where it contacts the throttle plate as a starting point.
Pull the choke closed and pull the starter cord vigorously till it pops, then push the choke open and pull the starter cord.
If it tries to run but won't go turn the idle screw 2 more times for a little more idle speed ( you can always turn it down once it's running).
All of this is some what dependent on the ambient air temperature and the state of the carburetor.
If the carburetor diaphragm is hard as a chip/crisp ,forget about it ,just rebuild it and save your shoulder.
If your points are worn or dirty, it'll be an exercise in frustration, replacement points or a digital chip are available on the internet.
Usually if the ignition system is the "no start" you'll pull the cord enough to get mix/gas out the muffler .

I have a suggestion.

Could you make a different choke linkage rod that allows the choke to pull like a regular 10 series instead of pushing in like that does. Then you could chuck a peg on it to hold it open if its still not locking out for ya.??

I'd check for decent spark before anything else. Use a plug with the electrode bent out to around 1/4" or so. Ground it and spin the saw over with a cordless drill. If you don't have a strong and consistent spark across that gap, figure out why not before going much further.

Don't forget the spark plug! My 10-10 refused to start so I checked and it had a weak yellow spark, swapped the plug and it became blue and strong. I ended up cleaning the original plug and it sparked beautifully.

7-10 week.

Earlier in the week I decided to clean up the late model 7-10, Serial number 17-

I decided to dress this one up with one of Goin Wheelin's spikes. It will go in the display along with an early 7-10 with the lever type compression release.

With that one done I went after a very early model, Serial number 10- it was a bit of a dirty mess.

I spent an inordinate amount of time getting this one really right but it is now very clean and everything works just as it should. Since I already have the early lever type compression release 7-10 on the shelf I expect I will put this one up for sale. New seals, PTO side bearing, carburetor kit, fuel filter, air filter, several gaskets, three screw oil pump, and a nice 20" McCulloch bar with a new Oregon chain. I would also consider a trade for a mid range7-10 with the pop up compression release and no OPL or throttle release. I should point out that this one has the roller fairlead on the starter and the three piece sawdust screen set up, new screen segments installed.
