Ive seen that before but now i must do it. I know a welder or 2 and have a couple of bars i can sacrifice.....im measuring tonight!!!!
I've done my own welding since High School.
My main concern is keeping it straight while welding it. Just a little at a time and switch sides often.
Thanks for.that information. Ill ask the guys at work to tackle this one. I can weld but i dont trust myself on this one. Im more of a farmer welder. When the brushhog breaks i can fix that. But if it comes to a boiler weld here...im not the guy.
More sorting today, among the items I pulled out was a bag full of chain repair kit with half of the poly bags badly disintegrated. After getting trash sorted from the treasures, I now have a lifetime supply of McCulloch Pro 370 chain repair parts.
I also found some McCulloch .404 .058 repair kits for carbide tipped chains.
If anyone wants to fit a Windsor/Speed Mac bar with a .354 sprocket nose, I've got you covered.

There is no "date code" in McCulloch serial numbers, the best you can do it compare it to IPL's and look at the dates on those. That one would have been around 1975. The closest IPL I have in electronic format is 1977 but it should work for most parts. There were a lot of changes made to the Mini Mac line up over the years but most of the time the later parts would be direct replacements for earlier versions. Even the later starter pulleys can be used with the early flywheels with narrow steel pawls...for a little while anyway. If the problem is with the starter pulley it may be worth changing the flywheel or replacing the pawls (McCulloch made a ton of replacement kits) to extend the life of the new starter pulley.

Hello gentlemen, I haven't been on here in a bit. But I was playing with one of my 10- 10 auto's ant that same disc was laying in the bottom of the oils tank also. The automatic oiler was not putting out like anything. I really enjoy this little saw for firewood, and opened it up to investigate. The pump seemed to be clogged. Their was a lot of gritty gunk in the tank, around the pump and half clogged pick up hose.
Can some one point out to me where this little disk goes?

I knew I was over looking the obvious. Thank you! Not one of my saws have the chain or keeper.
There's also a proprietary duckbill or check valve behind there too.
The earliest models had non vented caps and a hole in the tank with a cotter pin stuck in it for a vent.
Some models had a more elaborate cap with a duckbill valve and that disc that often shows up in the bottom of the oil tank.
Still others had a vented cap that just had a piece of felt in it.

I did wonder if that's what that disc was... #53 on the PM60 IPL:
Here's my oil cap. The O ring is there but the check valve is not. No chain either.

Someone called on Thursday looking for some parts, I knew they were listed in the inventory but I hadn't gotten to those boxes yet so I did a little digging. I won't post any photos of what I found along the way but I will say there are a few more treasures to be uncovered.
Sorry guys, no motherload of SP125 cylinders or anything like that but let's say we won't be running out of the anti-vibe mounts for a while.

I did look at the IPL I have, and seen that disc. Thout to myself that can't be the same.
As far as Mark beating you to the ipl, he is very good at replying with a lot of information on the subject at hand. I have seen his video, know what he looks like, but still picture him like gandoff the grey( Lord of the rings) wizard of McCulloch chainsaws.
Anyway it was good to get on the site and catch up on 14 pages of posts.
