There are some parts that will interchange on some models, but it is a lot more complicated than your might think.

Some crankshafts, some connecting rods, probably some pistons are the same. The crankshaft seals and mufflers (with some exceptions...) will interchange. The starter rope and handles will interchange...

The cylinder and crankcase for the PM 6 models is distinctly different from the Mini Mac models.

The flywheel will interchange on early models, ignition coils and condensers are the same...

The starter pulleys are even different, the PM6 are smaller in diameter and the hole in the center is smaller.

They both use MDC carburetors but the fuel inlets are different, and the choke shaft is different so you even swap the carburetors (after changing the fuel inlet portion).

They definitely have a completely different look about them.

Well hopefully I can get this thing living.

I own an orchard and currently my pruning mcculloch is a 7-10 🤣 and have nothing really smaller. Well I lie I have a couple but basically 60cc is my smallest saw that runs.

Got a box with a couple little homelite twin trigger majiggys but no real interest

The small Macs are a blast, very handy little saws, anything smaller than about 6" diameter and I'm probably grabbing a Mini Mac.

You should get that PM6 running.

Well as long as I can get the bits I'll need it should be a runner. Quite excited really.

It's horrific shipping stuff from the states here at the moment. 40usd for anything unless a letter. Yet China or Europe it's free or a few bucks.

I have two Mini Mac saws and a PM6 that I do start and run on a regular basis, but when I am working from a bucket or a lift I would typically use my Echo 2511T that has been modified.

Like most top handle saws, they are not really that handy for anything other than some smaller branches.

Had a few minutes after work to pull the carb and assess. The gaskets and area around the carb were wet with fuel, and you can see where the carb base was contacting the bolt heads. Feeling good that this was my issue!IMG_8153.jpeg

Pulled the extra washers from the top of the lock plate and went to tighten it back down and the plate warped badly (once again, Mark called it). Stopped there for the evening.
