Its a felt, and thats one of them pieces where the answer is no most of the time. Its inside the tank, so you can put any filter on that fits, and BTW, most fuel filters will run you less than it costs to ship one, or three for that matter.

:jawdrop: 300 bucks!! Pfft... I would never pay that much for a 605, or 610, not even a 650. I don't care if it's brand new, I will not pay that much for it!!! Bet some severely anal-retentive collector might want it... for 200. I hope you're not the one selling it... I doubt it would ever sell for 300.

Yep. There's a mom-and-pop hardware store near me that has an NOS Homelite Super XL-AO and an NOS Homelite 240. They're LATE production saws. The SXL-AO has the crappy zama carb and the simplified/cheapened manual oiler assembly. Those saws have been on the rack at that store since 1993 or so. They now sit below a wall of Stihls. The SXL-AO has a price tag of $399.95 and the 240 is $299.95. You've gotta be kidding me!!!!!!:D

As has been stated...............just replace the whole filter assembly with your basic Tillotson/Walbro/Husky/Stihl clunk filter. To heck with the felt ball...

Hey Guys, would a good running pro mac 700 be worth $100?

I'm guessing yes, as it has much more power than the 610 and 650. :) I'm sure you'd be able to get that for it. If you're listing on CL, make sure you make it 125, so the buyer negotiates you down to your target of 100. Well, I probably didn't need to tell you that, lol.

I have seen them go for more on Ebay.

There is one for sale locally. I'm trying to figure out if it's a good deal for $100.

Oh, I see. I'd get it, see if you can negotiate. Probably could get it for a little less than 100 bucks. If they aren't "firm" on the price that is. Hope you get it! It's a good saw. :)

$100 for a PM700 is a good deal if the saw is running and in nice condition.

Better yet, look for a 7-10, more aggressive porting, less weight (no chain brake, etc), and really fun to run.

The PM700 is not far behind the 7-10 and lots of parts available for either one if you are willing to look around.

It'll probably take a little work to outcut YOUR Wild Thing, but I'm sure you have the know how. $100 with an OK bar and chain, oh yeah, Koolaid.

Thanks Guys, I may go look at it tomorrow. I love the design and looks of that series saw.

What is it worth to you to have a piece of McCulloch history? The 44A is an 80 CC model with many similarities to the kart engines of the day and fully capable of turning 10,000 RPM. On the other hand they have no automatic oilers so you have to be disciplined if you run one to keep the chain lubed.

On e-Bay, $20 to $150 depending...

Thanks for the quick answer. I don't know the first thing about them other then they look well made. Now I have some idea of what i should offer if he doesn't have price in mind.

Paid 105 + shipping for mine on the bay. 180psi compression, still has the governor on (for now). Barn burner of a saw.

Actually that was for my Super 44, sorry. 80cc vs. 87 for the 44A. I'd like a 44A, too. Great saws.
