Here is another one of Mccullochs best muscles saws ever.
I got this Super 797 a fews ago from the PNW. It needed a
couple parts but also had a slightly scored piston. I took it appart
and had it bored .010 over. I had a new piston in stock. "Gotta love
having parts on the shelf". It got a full rebuild with seals, gaskets,
carb kit, points and condenser, and bearings. Runs excellent now.

But sometimes ya forgit a part. This one went smooth. I have
quite an inventory of Mac parts for these saws.

My ear plugs were on the hood of the jeep, wish I had them in my ears. It also filled my 40' shop with smoke and I was outside.

That can't be good... bet your ears are bleeding now. Two-smoke is okay though.

Sounds fantastic. You need to put in a bit bigger wood though. It won't cut any slower, that's for certain...

I'll bet it's awkward to handle. Sideways balance must be diminished severely by the gas tank being on the top...

That video is the first that it has ran in probably 20 or so years, I haven't turned it on its side yet.

It is not that bad, the weight helps it in the cut, just have to remember to catch it once it is through. I could not cut with this saw for any length of time without a serious workout program.

I will rig up a larger round this weekend and try for another video, I will also sharpen the chain, may pick up a second in the cut.

Another nice looking 797!!! When I did mine I figured out most of the internal differences, but I never really figured out if a Super pulls better. I know if anybody would know it would be you Lee, so does a Super pull better or the same as a regular 797?
