Stinkbait, you may have just given me a reason to take in a mini mac or two...

I assume I can mod the case like briantutt said... make it so carb comes off easily.

Sounds like a bit of silly fun that we all need to take part in. :)

Mark: Ah, a 3.7 SE... I will keep looking, never know when we'll run across one. :) Sounds pretty rare then.

I wouldn't know how to begin on porting anything but one thing I have always thought about since I took mine apart is one should be able to make a fixture that mounts to the bench that allows you to run the saw completely outside the case. Tust need a long fuel line to a tank.

Good idea... test run before putting back into the case... Clamp the throttle WFO and use a lever attached to the fixture to cut through a test piece of wood to make sure it's tuned perfect... then put the case on and go spank some little creamsickles and orange saws.

I made an attempt at running the MM out of the case just to be sure before I put the last on back together. The biggest problem is the flywheel nut just spins off when you try to turn it over with a drill to get it going. I wasn't going to mess around trying to rig some other starter and just put it back in the case.

Only problem now is the oiler is leaking into the crank case but I think I can solve that by simply taking the front cover off and working on the oiler from there without having to pull the whole engine out again.

On the subject of the 600 Series saws, I realize we still need three to have the full line up, the 640 (I've only ever seen this mentioned in a IPL), 655, and the Silver Eagle 3.7.

Was it this one?

Large McCulloch Super 797

That is a sweet deal $100 for a running 797 Super. Wow, I need to move to Roseburg... lol.

Something tells me it's not a Super 797,
The top tank is older like a 1-72, 740, 790, etc.
Notice the air filter cover lines don't match the tank.
I can't see if it has the decomp in the pic's.

I contacted the seller on the S797, now I need to find someone in the area willing to pick it up for me...

Anyone out there near Springfield, OR?

Mark

danggitalltoheck!

Mark, we were halfway there today, went to Grants Pass, got back about 4, missed again. Jack, the Ranchero loves yellow chainsaws, he will be sad too.
Farleyn9 lives that way close. If he does pick it up, have him hang on to it, we can inspect it at the GTG, maybe hold it hostage.

The Michigan buyer was me. I talked to him this morning and emailed him last night. I just got off the phone with him and he said a local buyer was interested, but if that fell through he'd call me since I was the first one to get to him. So, looks like I'm getting aced out...

And I was number two if your deal fell thru, talked to him this morning. That answers that.

Now who got the Jonsered 111S for $50?

Well, the maddening part is you're number 3 and I'm #2 even though chronologically we were 1 and 2... Here's hoping.

Now, for this clown that's stiffing me on the 101.

Name, location, when, where, how, and why.

RandyMac and his friends can coax that 101 out of that guy... forcibly, if necessary.

Or if you want, we'll go chase him around with big saws and hockey masks. When he craps his pants enough, he'll give you your 101.

Buzzkill!

Don't know about the rest of your observations, but I can just make out the black lever in the last pic.

No help required. I value my friends' willingness to rally and they shall know I take up their sword when called upon, just as they shall stand vigilant to my cry... I am benevolent to visit upon you 6 cubes (hurry up already!), yet resourceful, ruthless, and relentless in my pursuits.
