I'm envious! I passed on a 2 man McC this spring for reasons of marital harmony. The winner reluctantly bid $290 and the back up bidder went out. I'm sure I could have got it for 300 clams. If it was anywhere near as good as the SP105 I got at the same auction, it would have been awesome. It had a 6 foot bar with the biggest freekin chain I have ever seen in person. I hope you have fun with 'em.

1-1/2 turns each will be plenty rich, you will probably end up between 1 and 1-1/4 turns out for each.

The styles and part numbers change but the PM 700 cover should fit the PM 800 just fine.

Finally got the 890 working!!!! Yesterday I had the metering lever set way to high, readjusted it and its seems to be doing good now. Going to shoot for Wednesday to put it in some wood.

10-10 carb question

Hey, I just have a quick question concerning the metering lever height on an SDC carb. I know it is supposed to be level, but with it set level, it still has to travel a little before it actually starts to lift the needle. Should I raise it a little to compensate for that, or just set it level with the spring pushing it up?
Thanks,
Jim

Set it level... If you were supposed to set it a little high to compensate for something, that would be the recommended setting in the manual. However, the manual says level so apparently when its level its already compensating.

Believe me, you definitely do not want it more than level. I have the flooded out saw to prove it.

True that!! I have set the level high to figure cause and effect of what is and isn't working!
Running a saw with the level up is a patch to a problem that still needs addressed.
