Like JD never had any recalls or other issues....:censored:

If you're not careful, I'll paint that C-5 IHC red and put a big honkin' "Tractor Man" decal on it...:jester:

Do you now have a 1-76 Jeff? Spillit!

What do you want to know? 99cc. RH start. Carb will be a damn McFlatback with a primer, or a Tillotson HL19 with a butterfly choke. I prefer the Tillys, and have one spare HL19 that's not spoken for. These saws had the air-vane governor, which works fine........or you can disable it without drama if you want. Bearings and seals are shared with many other Macs such as the 700/800 series and are also available from local bearing houses. Pistons/rings and such are shared with some other 99cc Macs. Gaskets aren't too hard to find. Stuff's about as available as parts for other old Macs. You need part numbers for rings and such?

Don't make me come out there, son. Any rattle can modifications will come with a hop in your step from my boot.:msp_w00t:

Always knew of a drawer of parts for a 1-76. Once upon a time saws were disassembled and parts separated at the shop I tinker at. While looking for something saw related, namely another members "screw"y request, I came across most of the crankcase of a 1-76. I don't know where the front handle and fuel tank would be if its around, but plan to keep a watchful eye. Starter would be gone, know of the saw that disappeared for, hopefully its still running for the guy. Pictures when I figure that out.

Another young man has taken up a challenge. This time, Jacob aka ChainsawmanXX. The saw: SP81E. Don't expect an original restoration as I don't have all original parts (e.g. SP81 AFC not 81E; plain recoil cover, etc). If you want to help him, he is going to need a muffler as mine is completely shot (10-10 & 700 inlets are too small so he'll need a SP 80 - 81 or a PM850 muffler); a Zama carb kit; an old style bucking spike with screws; a sprocket; and seals unless he wants to chance it. I don't know if it needs bearings or not. He'll be getting some NOS parts - recoil cover, sawdust guard, air filter and rings. And some decent replacement parts - chain brake, recoil and sawdust grill. His handle bar has chain rash which should be welded but I am assuming he can get that done locally. He'll have plenty of work... electronic coil from the 600 series (need to shorten the lead), a 600 flywheel if he wants to replace the present flywheel that has a chipped fin, matching up screws, replacing the trigger assembly, etc. I hope to get it boxed and mailed this weekend. Ron

 Outstanding .... parallel projects going on at the same time, as I am into mine already :msp_w00t: . Have the parts and will start the painting tomorrow if the weather cooperates.

Dang you guys, got me all worked up now, Macs & IH in the same thread! I had quite a few adventures in a 69 1110, 304 4spd, built like a tank. I think that little 304 weighed about the same as a BB Chev, they weren't afraid of using iron back then. Best sounding V8 I've ever owned, running duals and glasspacks off the manifolds.

I don't think IHC ever sold a rebadged chainsaw unfortunately. The Cub Cadet name wasn't put on saws until long after MTD bought Cub Cadet from IHC. JD, Ford, and AC sold rebadged saws off and on through the years. I'm probably going to repaint one of the S25CVA Poulan project saws that I'm getting soon in IHC red/white/black colors with a "Tractor Man" IHC emblem on it somewhere. Probably will do the same with my Homelite XP1020, as it's extremely ugly right now, needs a repaint, and is somewhat of a frankensaw. Why not???:D

I'm even more fanatical about IHC than I am about McCulloch, Homelite, and old Poulan saws (if that's possible). Got a couple IHC Scouts and a '71 4WD 4-Door pickup. On the hunt for an International 300 Utility tractor and a Loadstar/Cargostar dump truck.

I had to look, as I like my old Masseys as well. It turns out I'm now in the market for a MF branded 3.7 Roper: Model Profile: MF 370AR

300 Farmalls aren't too hard to find around here, Utitlity maybe a bit less common than a row crop, but I bet I could find one for sale pretty easily up here. There's a 63 IH 4x4 for sale less than 10 miles from me, I'd love to have it but my finance dept - aka back pocket - says not now. My old man plowed snow with a 1900? Loadstar, 345 with a 5 & 2, he thought he'd hit the big time when the township traded it on an S-series with the 466 diesel in it. Nowadays the township has a pair of Macks, another good name with a lot of history.

Such as a 1256 or 1456 s/n 501. I'd ask for a 1206 with that, but I know where it is. I'd settle for a IH fridge to keep my beer cold this fall when I return to the 791R and the SP-101R...

Dang, now you'll have me checkin S/Ns when I go to the local pull in a month or so, can also check cousin's '06. Any special significance to the 501 SN?

Now (maybe) back to our regularly scheduled McProgramming.

The Farmall 300 is quite different from the International 300 Utility (even though they're both from IHC). If you find a good one for a good enough price that hauling/shipping to ca would be worth it, please let me know. There's one nearby me that I may yet get. The owner's 'dificult' though...

Suppose I could metion the IH Cub Cadet 149 that we have, bought new by grandpa on dad's side.

Think it's a 1972, 14 hp Kohler, still have the snow blade somewhere, and found the wheel weights for it. The mower deck is beyond repair for it though. It never had headlights at all that dad can remember, has a crome plug where the switch goes. The atv tires where freebies from a friend and they just barely fit. The seat is another freebie from, ironically, an IH cattle truck (don't remember what model).

Got to cut with the 890 today!! I think I still have the metering lever set a little too high, I cant seem to lean it out enough. Going to readjust it this evening and try again tomorrow and try and get another a video. You can hear its still pretty rich.

Aaron,

Remember, it's dangerous to reason with delusional people.:dizzy:

Chris B.

Its more dangerous to deny reality.:msp_wink:Ask the folks who ran IH.

The war has been won, silly people still cling to their old warriors (myself included), and take up arms against one another. We should conduct that battle, and I'm not fighting with yous about this anymore, its just fun to poke to bear, else where.

I found the bottom half of my fuel tank today. Even has the governor vane on it. Still no sign of the front handle.

501 = Numero Uno. 706 sn 501 and 806 sn 501 were both owned by Randy Leffingwell last I knew and 1206 sn 501 is in a collection, but I forget where. They'd bring 40 to 50 grand right now... The other "most desireable" for me is the "5 Millionth Farmall" 1066, but the real one is in a museum in Montana.

HAHAHAHA!!!

I'll admit the failures of IHC. I'm rereading A Corporate Tragedy right now for the 5th time. Good lessons there about how NOT to run a business.

I still laugh when I go to the antique pulls and the JD guys complain that we need to change the rules to pre-1963 instead of pre-1957/9. I kid them that it isn't our fault JD kept making the double-barrels so long, LOL!

You gotta admit its way easier to cheat with the IH's. Even more tempting. Around here they go to 1959. I sense a conspiracy. True stock to stock theres some good competition. As there was in the day.

Okay gang, back to reality and what life's about...

Pile of Mac iron and a Homie in the classifieds. Time for a cleansing...

Where to find part for sp125

The intake boot on my sp125 I'm trying to get going has a split in it. does anybody know where I might be able to find one of these? I believe it is part #69889.

Thanks,
Jeff

Oh yeah, like the Johhny poppers don't have monster big bore kits available. If you wanna challenge, try cheatin' with an orange tractor!
The local Allis dealer in Caneyville, KY used to be the Mac dealer too.

To make a long story short, I have some different priorities right now and my shop is too clutteref. I don't have time to play with all of them, so some have to go.
