Hi guys, haven't posted here in almost a year, but I keep up with the banter each week, or so. I wanted to share a couple of pics. If I can figure out the process.
Hazard tree in my own backyard, so I broke out the S250.

77 puller? What's been done to it? I co-drove a 77 to a points title here a few years back.

super 77 with a S88 motor, after market air filter, P.O. built a canister around the intake snorkel for ice or maybe dry ice, big Zenith carby, he added 4" width to the rims, shortened and lowered the drawbar. 12V. I cant tell if anything is done to the motor. Cleaned up and a farmers paint job. Nothing happening around here this early in the year so I haven't had a chance to pull with it. That big six sounds pretty healthy. :msp_wink:

Brad you won't get a rise outa me with tbe Oliver pic. I love ALL the old iron. Saw a Budda diesel powered 88 a while ago. Cool old tractor. There are a few diehard Oliver/Cleateac guys near me. A friend here on AS is ANTI-IHC for some dang reason. I get a rise out of him just by keeping the IHC "Tractor Man" logo in my siggy line.:D

Fraser I believe I know where that shop is. I was visiting a buddy in that area, and he tried to take me to it as he knows I'm into "Model-T saws". Knucklehead...............

Anyways, we pulled up to it but the shop was closed. Was about 8-10 years ago. I need to go see him. He told me the shop closed down (he's an arborist, and used to go there for parts and service). I assumed the old saw stuff had been sold off.......and forgot about that shop until now...:D

I believe I've been by there as well. Years I combed all of NW Oregon looking for old saws. There was a guy there and I asked about buying stuff but he wasn't interested in selling.

i havn't been in the shop for prob 5-6 years. he is there for a couple hours a day in the back. even to go in and look around is cool. it' a great example of a good ol saw shop. i'll see i'f i can catch him sometime this week.

Thanks Mark, there was a lot of crud in the bottom of the carb. It sat with gas in it for a long time. I need to clean up that lower section some more then I'll post some pics. BTW nice haul a few weeks back, looks like youve got plenty to do in your spare time.

"extra saws for Ray"

Mark --- Have you been able to do any sorting yet? Ryan lost his machine shed last weekend in the storm here. The wind lifted the poles right out of the ground and slammed it into his really nice shop. Smashed the eves on two sides and poked two big holes in the roof and one hole in the back side. Spread parts of the building all over the field west of his house. He did get the big saw from his ebay shoping trip and it is fun to run but very tireing with thr 42 inch bar.

Mac 3-25 carby

Hey Mark , I'm sure you've been down this road a time or 2. This carb was really gummed up with old mix.
So is there a ball/check valve under the screw that is below the metal clip in the close-up? The round metal in the bottom of the carb bowl is really siezed, doesn't budge. It certainly looks like it should come apart. Should I keep trying to dissasemble, or just spray lots of carb cleaner and air?
Ive never had experience with a carb like this.
It's gravity feed so the diaphragm is for metering fuel, right?

I hope the pics help make sense of my text...

Sorry Ray - Argentina this week, I got your phone message but can't call out for some reason.

Dieselsmoke - that round little hockey puck with the screw and the metal clip on top is the "ball" that should lift with the diaphragm. They get very stuck...

While I am travelling, Mrs. Heimann is sometimes gracious enough to open a package for me so I can see what is waiting at home.

Now in addition to my 1-85 (best sounding saw ever, period) I have a 1-81

And to further the 44/55 collection a Super 55A. Now if I can find a decent Super 55 I will have the entire 44/55 line up completed.

I will try to get some photo's up when this internet connection cooperates again.

Mark

thanks

Mark, Thanks again for the info, I will let this one soak for a while I get diaphagms and gaskets made up.
HI Aaron, I went to a farm auction to check out a couple of farmall M's, But the Oliver called out to me! So far no regrets.

Mark, I've got one in the shed. I'll bring it with to the IA GTG for ya to check out. Not a runner, but it's all there. Handlebar mount is trashed though, and the handlebar itself may be bent. Found an old pic of it:
