3-10E, piston and cylinder are pretty nice, it turns over smoothly, this is all there is, no other parts.
I posted about this saw with the other 2 I got from a relative this weekend in "Picked up 3 saws this weekend" thread. It does turn over but doesn't run and I haven't really torn into it yet. When I asked about it, my relative said i was getting "hard to start" and thought the compression was geting weak, so on to the shelf it went. It seems to have decent compression when I pull it over but I don't have a compression tester to settle the matter. Hopefully I can get a answer tomorrow. Here's some pic's:
Seeing questions on the carbs on the 250's and if rebuild kits are still available for certian ones a while back, are kits still available for this one? This carb has HL 630 stamped on it.
Carb is stamped HL63G... Get Tillotson kit RK-88-HL and read this: http://www.arboristsite.com/showthread.php?t=64450&highlight=hl you'll be good to go. How much you want for that 250??? j/k I have enough projects!!!!
McCulloch and Poulan made some of the best starter handles back in the 60's and 70's.
Grizzly, make sure the choke closes completely, that was a problem for many of the 200/250 McCulloch saws.
Up until recently I did not own any Macs. Picked this 10-10S up a couple of weeks ago:
Today I went chasing after some saws that were advertised on Craigslist. He claimed to have 9, but found some more in his sheds. I spotted the handle of one he had missed and talked him into bringing it outside. In the end, I also ended up with this 640 bow saw (along with 13 others including a Timberbear with a bad starter).
Nice 10-10,
The 640 is great, looks like it will clean up nice.
