Hello Mac people. Looking for some guidance. I have aquired a SP80. I am assuming this saw would accept an Oregon D176 Oregon mount but correct me if I’m wrong.
The bar I have is definitely a McCullouch 20” that appears to be D176 mount. I am confused as to how the oil will actually get to the chain though! If I am understanding correctly it oils the chain through the adjustment slot but the adjustment slot is wide open and looks like most of the oil would just run out of the cover. Is there supposed to be a plate to block it on the cover side? Am I missing something here? Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated! Pictures added to assist.

The clutch cover/outside bar plate effectively seals the opening so the oil can only pass through the opening in the groove of the bar. There is a bit of a pocket or reservoir for oil formed between the discharge port and the clutch cover so it may take several pumps of the manual or run time for the automatic oiler to fill it to the point where oil starts reaching the bar/chain.

Sorry to hear that Max , was a Mcculloch icon for sure,
Bob and Joan stopped to see me once as they were making a cross country tour. I was working out of my garage in those days. He brought me the two 660 gear drive saws for "a buck and a half".
A few years later, after Bob had the surgery on his hip I was able to stop and see him in his place in Maryland, NY.
We spent countless hours on the phone discussing saws, parts, people, and places. In the early days I'd ask him for advice, later on he was calling me with questions...
We will miss him dearly.

What seal do I need? This is the PM570 flywheel side.
PN 61618 is the McCulloch number. SKF 5756 alternate PN
Normally I don't post here anymore on the Mac sticky after I was accused of being condescending a few months ago,but I feel it important to overlook that fool & tell folks here that I've been ripped off.My SP125 was stolen,along with a Pioneer Farmsaw,Homelites 450,XL-923,(with a 28 in.Mac bar),XL-902,XL-800,XL-700 (red & quite rare),XL-500,& XP-1000.I knowsome of you will think that I've "juist misplaced them".I've been putting up shelves in my barn for the past 2 months & have been going through all my saws.Needless to say I'm beside myself.I had the state police here on Sat.(6/29) & they determined that the thief used a small screwdriver to jimmy the lock on my front door of the house & let tyhemselves in that way.My garage is attached to the house.

SP81 came in a few weeks ago, owner said it stopped suddenly while he was cutting.

Maybe put an alarm on the door so when it's opened it goes off with a key switch going to the outside and or a motion detector inside. If you need help installing I can come over and give you a hand.

Nope,probably never will either.I live very close to an Indian Reservation,chances are the saws ended up there..But...my son is friends with several of the Natives & the word will be put out tomorrow when a bunch of them come to our annual July 3rd party.
I sure hope they turn up. I assume the cops got word out to the local pawn shops??
