I think my 125 has an air leak??? What is not in the video is several restarts and the 125 revving up. The last few seconds show the revving up. It had been a year since last running it and it ran fine then. It might be time to to pull her apart for a refresh. Compression on this saw can be painful!!!

Here's a random one... and I'm not very concerned, but does anyone have any idea where this 2nd felt block is supposed to go?? It's in the IPL (#27) but I sure have no idea. It fell out of the recoil cover when I cleaned the saw... it's not the points cam wiper.

Just wanted to post a "Thank You" to all who have supported me for this first year of my "Old Saw Shop" business experiment. Your support has been appreciated.
The people I've connected with have been great...Most are selfless, and willing to help in any way to promote the good of the hobby itself. It's getting harder to find that sort of environment, so again I'll say Thank you to all that have helped me out be it with questions, or purchases (or both).
I'm looking forward to another year of creating new products and helping the hobby.

Andi - that felt is a "seal" (breather if you will) . I believe there is a vent hole in the vicinity of the breaker points box, maybe under the condenser??? I don't remember where it goes on those models.

On the super series engines there is an additional "strap" that holds the felt against the points box. See 19 & 20 in the illustration below.

Thanks Mark!

I got the clutch and flywheel installed tonight. Next is the coil, side cover, recoil. And I'm going to attempt to rebuild and use the Mac Flatback carb and see how it runs.

I stole the flywheel off my 250 parts saw since the 450 flywheel is missing a recoil pawl.

You were 100% correct on the wick breather....it goes into a space under the condenser to cover a breather hole that leads to the inside of the side cover near the oil seal:
