Started mine up last evening just to make sure it ran - only took a couple of pulls. I'll probably bring it next time I cut.

The ball is above the spring and the cap comes apart to be sure, 5 pieces in total.

I wish mine had come with the chain brake arm but mine is a different style than that and has been hard to track down.

Yes, all saws should be used at time to time to keep them up and running and remember why you still have em...
Mine has an regular break arm, flag style, don't like the big one the 610 has.

This forum is as old as the hills. I'm 20 years old and inherited a later model 610 from the house/farm that my mother purchased. The land was neglected for decades, and there is 40 acres of overgrowth I have to take care of. This chainsaw was left in one of the barns. Never fooled with a carburetor before, but I took the covers off and messed with the tuning screws for maybe 30min before I was able to get it running again (and running good). The guy who ran it before me must've ran it out of fuel, because I didn't have any issues with the carb after that. I would estimate it had been sitting for at the least 10 years...

I've cut down more trees than I can count with this saw. The weight doesn't bother my arms, but it does bother my back after several hours... I have to wear a back brace while using it for extended periods of time... With a fresh chain and an oiled bar, the power this thing puts out is wonderful. Fires right up and is always dependable. For a free saw I feel like a very lucky guy, I plan on keeping this saw until I die, even if it stops running. It may be heavy, but I can appreciate its not entirely plastic like the saws of today... This thing is meant to last, and there may be better saws of it's time, but this thing is way ahead of the new ones in terms of parts availability, durability, and overall construction.
