I have requested site to remove the saw for sale. To answer have not opened saw up Ever!! Too few hours to mind that.i know that if you don't use compression release you better be a Very strong man to start it. Have a Great Day and I may take a borescope down the cylinder. Kinda lazy though,still has Original spark plug in it. Gonna ponder on my Saws for a while thank you once again. And yes I am well informed about the qualities of SPs Have had them Since they were first Born! I am an old geezer that loved Trees and Saws and really liked Big Trees and Big Powerful Saws As Well.

No Worries! Have owned it for 46 or 48 years Retired and put it away for the last 25 years, dumped all fluids, and let it be. Perhaps you are correct, don't want to think of selling someone a Bad Machine and after All think maybe will put fuel and oil to it and Run it! Then maybe put borescope to it firstly will put compression Guage to it, look into the faulty motor mounts And strip all the original paint and get color mixed and repaint the entire saw! Wish I could find that original sticker on the front of the oil box, then it could be a brand new painted Old Saw that will probably devalue it even more. But it will look good sitting on my shelf with all the other old one owner saws I have. The SP was my first time of offering my saws, thought it would give me an idea about selling them All. And I Agree with You! My thought went sideways! Sorry for the inconvenience and informing me about all its Problems! Hope you find a Nice one!

Why is the front vibration dampener so badly stretched out of shape? I'm thinking someone that wasn't familiar with this model didn't assemble it correctly. There is too much of an gap between gas tank & crankcase. To sell this saw to a knowledgeable collector you need a photo of the cylinder bore with the muffler off, also mention the teeth count of the rim and what carb is attached & model. I have 3 of these 125's, 1 is a C and the other cast iron. The 3rd is an original factory installed 101B kart engine.

I know they made a kit for the dealers to install kart motors and my dad bought two of them at the time when he was cutting big timber in the 70's. I'm also not seeing where the front mount is stretched out of shape or that there's an incorrect gap between the tank and the body of the motor.

Lawrence - I think you have a clean, original survivor there and I don't think your price was too far out of line. I've rebuilt about 25 of these saws and I've been selling my rebuilt saws for $12-1300.00.

This saw hasn't even had the spark plug cover off, nothing has been removed EVER!!!! You are the second person to say this about the mount! Has been in the business for many many years, sent him the pics and as myself nothing wrong there! Anyway the saw is No longer for sale. Easier to let go back on the shelf with the others and rest a while longer. first time ever in 25yrs took it off the shelf and offered it for sale. Seems the negatives win! Thanks for your input!

That saw and it's front mount look normal to me. It's a nice looking saw and your price is correct, especially with a 53" rollernose bar. It is hard for a lot of members to accept a new guy whose first post is selling an expensive saw. Several have been burned, none the less good luck with the sale.

My apologies! To address your displeasure, you did not ask about the Sp125 your request asked me what other saws I have Available. If You were to request pics of the Mac, then I would have been happy to Accomodate you with them! Pretty Sure the price has been posted as others have had that info from my post!

I watched YouTube channel West Coast muscle saw , Rich Dugan at Myrtle Creek Saw Shop , Oregon say the same thing that it was offered as a kit , but not directly factory installed .

I am aware that the kart engine was a dealer installed kit. In the early 70's my aunt was secretary to a high level executive at Mcculloch corp and employees could purchase discounted products for themselves and close relatives. I ordered 2 125's and 1 kart kit, upon delivery the 3rd box contained the 'kart kit' which was a complete 125 power head. I think the guys did this for her as a favor because she was a well loved employee . At the time I was a contract feller for several logging companies and the forest service & etc. I do have several photos of the 101B setup if you would like to view? I know reason for the large air gap and bent front dampener is someone needed to work on the chain oiler and instead of properly disassembling the saw, they just crudely jammed a pry bar between the tank and crankcase and pried it apart! IMHO that saw should not bring top dollar until checked out completely.

On an interesting note, the 125C with the large adjustable walbro carb could keep up with the kart powered saw. This was running 105 octane av fuel and racing oil. However this changed up when an kart exhaust was installed and more carb mods. These old saws gave me several podium finishes at logging shows. Lots of fun in those days, all this puts a date on my age at almost 80.

I probably should have detailed the factory installed kart kit differently, sorry. Rich Dugan is a great guy and I have bought several parts from him.

Right now I am madly baling hay trying to beat the weather and will have time in a few days for photos and Mc details, thanks.
