Mini GTG in NW Oregon

To Clarify:

The "Prep-Rally" Mini GTG on June 3rd is a one-day event. No need for tents or overnight plans.

Next year, Mrs. Heffalump and I hope to host a longer event, but this year is just a single day warm-up for Bob's.

Wish I could make it to this as it's so close to me. Unfortunately I have many friends with kids who want my presence and money (mainly money)for their high school graduation ceremonies.

I know the feeling. My son's HS graduation (Jun 9th) is causing me to miss out my multi-day trip to the real PNW-GTG down in "Farley-ville."

That was one of the reasons I planned this one-day GTG for the weekend before the local graduations.

Who knows....maybe you can sneak away....

Saturday is almost here!!

I've PM'd directions to all those who have contacted me. If anyone else cares to join, its not too late! It is a one-day event, no need to plan for overnights or anything like that.

My tractor will be out, there are trees to fell (nothing huge, if anyone is inclined) logs already set up for cutting, and plenty of equipment to play with.

We don't mind dogs, but we do have chickens. If your dog is not good with other dogs, or with chickens (or if you don't know) please don't bring the dog, or be prepared to keep the dog away from the chickens.

We are also kid friendly.

Tomorrow is the day!

Bring your chainsaws and appetites! I have marinated chicken drumsticks in one slow-cooker, and a pork roast in the other. Mrs Heffalump just finished whipping up veggies and sides, and is about to start baking...and making homemade tapioca!

I'll be out in the yard starting at 10am, so I won't have any cell service or internet.

If anyone else wants to come and needs directions, PM me before midnight.

Pardon my French but DAMN IT! I've been wanting to make a GTG since I learned what that meant and I'm only 2 hours away in central oregon............maybe had I not been MIA on AS for 2-3 months i would of known LOL. Nonetheless i look forward to a photo bombing of the events and toys. Safe cuttin all attendees

To make this GTG really special, we decided to fell a few trees on the property. I've had this fallen (stump rot) maple for over a year now, and figured what better time to take it down?!?!

Had a great time thanks to you and Julia! The drive up and back was a real adventure for T and I but loved it anyway. Looking forward to see you this weekend and perhaps you can convince Casey and his wife to join us! I think this beautiful P62 belongs to Chainsaw Jim and runs every bit as good as it looks.



Don (Sawfun) brought a truckload of big saws...

...including these beauties.



There were several hot saws on hand as well






I didn't bring too many saws from home...



...because I filled my truck on the way out.

I also added a few on site including a 1-75 and NIB Mini Mac from Nate (Madhatte)







This really nice PM610 was in the large Montana lot, I made a couple of simple repairs and added a NOS bar for good measure.



Another score and the GTG was this beautiful Double Eagle 50. It needed a couple of minor repairs and a coil, but runs like a new one now. I thought is deserved a good looking 16" bar.





On the way home I stopped to see Roger (3000 FPS) in Wyoming and picked up yet another, a nice looking 1-60.

Looking through my photos I was reminded of the note book and roll of 7/16" chain that Sheldon gave me, great bunch of guys in the PNW.



Inside the note book, just in case you wanted to know how much lumber is in that log.
