Great looking saw Brad! I'v been away from AS for a few days, and just saw the pic of the cleaned up product, WOW, is all I can say. I'm inclined to agree with you that it may not be broken in yet, by the looks of it. You have quickly become the envy of us Poulan guys, well, you and Steve, with his 7700.:)
The last 4000 I put together, (from parts saws) not a super looking find like yours, lol. I got 150 lbs compression, my first one, that I use alot, 130.
But it runs great, so I can't figure that out. Looking forward to seeing it running in person some day! Would love to make it to one of you guys GTG's someday.

Gregg,

Too bad my neighbors are late risers. I'm anxious to see how this thing runs. As many saws as I run around here, I do have to keep the neighbors in mind. Don't need any trouble.

So what time do you expect the neighbors to wake? The only way that I can sleep past 8:00am is to get pretty drunk the night before.

So here it is in its current state. I plan to have Nik mill an additional .014" of the cylinder base Saturday for some more compression. I also plan to throw a new set of rings in it just to see. The saw is currently tuned to 13,300.

Cut times with the same chipper chain I ran the stock times with are down 23% over stock. Once I threw a Stihl RSC chisel chain on it, they came down another 31%. With the port work and chain swap, it's now 47% faster than it was when I got it!

Here's the stock video again for reference. I captured the cut times from the uneditted version where I can see the chain touch the wood.

Man I've gotta learn how to port! Is there an instructional or step by step thread around?
