I don't think you could make it compete with either the 5100 or 346. It would be WAY heavier too.

Brad,

You might be surprised!
The 3400 starts with a 6cc advantage and altho' the chain speed is slower it has gobs of torque.
I'd say that properly "tuned" and with a correctly matched chain the cut times would be closer than a lot of folks think!

I've got news for you buys. The 4000 beat a good running stock 361:clap: The best time we got with the 361 was 9.1 sec and the 4000 cut a 8.5. Both saws were wearing 20" bars and good Stihl RSC chains.

Better yet, my 346 cut even a little faster than the 4000:cheers:

Then to top it off the, the ported 7900 cut a 6.1, and Andyshines well broke in EHP 7900 cut a 5.9. At least I know this 7900 in the ball park.

You darned scoundrels should be ashamed for having all that fun without me!!!

my 361 runs as strong or stronger than any 361 I've run. The 4000 handed it its ass. The wood was 10-12", any bigger and the margin of victory would have been greater. I don't like to lose. If I have to, I prefer it to be to an old Poulan.
