So I got myself a DP muffler for my new 460 and want to adjust the mixture a little richer, but when I went to, the high mixutre adjustment is already maxed out. There are little red plastic screws for the adjustment that I assume are limiters. How does one go about removing them so I can adjust them a little richer?

Thanks for the help!

Jim

I used a fine thread screw, the H and collar came out pretty easy.

Stihl sells a tool for it, pretty cheap too.

Buy the tool part #5910 890 4500 and some new caps #4203 121 2700

The tool is about $5, caps about $0.50 each.

If you use a screw you'll get into a pile of hurt unless you can also turn them fully counter clockwise after you get the screw in. The stihl tool is nothing more than a a left hand threaded shaft on a handle that guarantees you'll be fully counter-clockwise as it jacks out the cap. Works great though and is well worth it. If you get the caps mangled... it's a real pain to get them out (I have to do it at least once a week...)

Just slice the limit tabs off the new caps and pop them in. You'll not need the tool after that...
