Nice work!! Its always tuff to tell from pics but It looks like a bucket tree for us, Maybe a crane job if we had a couple other small jobs in the area to justify the cost/travel time etc.. Whats up with the injury thread??

On EDIT, Caught the injury thread, hope you make a quick recovery, best of luck!!

Crane made it easier than a bucket would have because the landing zone right near the house for a bucket would have you dealing with the house power feed and then the phone ( he did not want it disconnected). The crane operator just setup the boom inbetween these two and picked, pivoted, and lowered into the street right behind the chipper. All the wood was put to the curb and CL away! I did not want anymore Silver Maple as I have this mess in my driveway waiting for me to recover from a previous job. I mix it in with Oak and Cherry for a good burn combination plus it seasons fairly quickly.

Wow!

Do you guys all do charity work?

Tree work really gets done that cheap?

I heard of many a down south bubba cuttin down a tree for $100 or so but this is ridiculous!

I'd say $800 to $900. Depends what he made in the backyard. The lowest I could see on that tree is $600 no stumping.

Good guess Ricky! He told me he did it for 650 so he lost money on it but must have made up for it in his mind with the 2 removals in the backyard.

That's crazy cheap! When I heal up I wonder how buried in work he is going to be?

It's all got to do with equipment. When taking the tree down with a crane depending on how guys you got but that should be on the truck and gone shortly after the last piece is on the ground. It is a very tough market out there. You just have to seem resonable. If I don't get a call back with a couple days I do a follow up call and feel them out.

Having both of us working the tree made the job go a little bit quicker and yes, as soon as the last piece was layed down the crane left. Early in the day he asked me how much I thought the tree was worth and I told him around 1000-1200 so I was surprised when he told me the 650! I asked him if the stump was staying and he said it is being ground out too, except for the root against the foundation which was cracking the block at the corner of the house. He had two groundies (see pic) cleaning and clearing and then we helped clear up the rest once we got the tree down plus some stuff in the backyard.
